This place used to be called Macca Tree. The parking is free, easy, and plentiful. The young lady at the front desk was very pleasant and patient. I ordered brown stew chicken, rice & peas and steamed veggies, with a cream soda. The cream soda was delicious. The chicken was bland. It didn't taste authentic at all. It was dry and was missing something. I think they used browning in the bottle instead of browning the sugar in a pan. I didn't taste any tomato or Ketchup in the sauce either. The chicken definitely could've been better. The rice was dry, which is weird. I don't think I've ever experienced dry rice before. And the veggies were blah. Hopefully, I caught them on a bad day and this is not a representation of what they are truly capable of. 🤷🏾♀️
I'm really let down. On April 6, 2024, I picked up a catering order for rice and beans, jerk chicken, and brown stew chicken. The food was incredibly disappointing, clearly rushed and poorly made. It completely ruined the baby shower, and to top it off, I didn't even get a refund. If you enjoy the taste of nursing home food, then this place is perfect for you.
Brown stew chicken lunch special was flavorful, Smokey and sweet. Lots of rice and peas. For a good price.
