It was my daughter's boyfriend's birthday so my husband and I took him and my daughter out to eat at his restaurant of choice. He chose West African cuisine since he's been wanting to try it. I found Kofoshi on google maps and chose this restaurant based on the reviews. This was our 1st time trying West African food, and thanks to Kofo's cooking, it will not be our last. I am not an adventurous eater, so I tend to stick to the safe menu items like the beef pie. The rest of my party ordered the beef egusi & fufu, white rice and red stew with lamb, jollof rice with chicken drumsticks and okra stew with white fish. All the dishes were flavorful and on point. The food smelled so good that even I ventured out of my comfort zone and tried everything. If you like spicy food, you won't be disappointed. All the dishes had an enjoyable kick. When Kofo wasn't busy, she sat down with us during our dinner and made us feel welcomed. Its a very cozy restaurant and we look forward to coming back soon, eat great food and visit with Kofo again.
Food was DELICIOUS! I had efo riro and my husband had abula and we loved our food. The service was also amazing. The owner was very warm and hospitable. She gave us puff puff and corn on the house while we waited for the food. Everything was flavorful! 10/10 I’m Nigerian and can cook all of this at home but I will still be coming back!
The owner is so personable and genuine! My brother never had African food until today and he loved it. It was the best egusi soup and stewed fish I’ve ever had. 10/10 WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND. I’ll be back when I visit Houston!!
