I have tried other Puerto Rican restaurants in the area and this one is one of my Favorites!!!! Staff was amazing and nice and answered all my questions. Unfortunately they didn't have some of the items I would have loved to try, but nonetheless it still was amazing!!! The empanada was very flavorful and delicious. The carne fritas encebollado was also delicious and cooked to perfection. Omg the beans with calabaza was just the overall win for me!!!! I will be returning when I am in the area!!!!!
The food was amazing! A very clean restaurant and Carla our waitress was incredible and very patient. I definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants fresh, delicious food!
I drove about 1.3 hours because I was really craving a taste of my homeland. As someone from Puerto Rico, I miss authentic food so much, and I was excited to bring my American husband to try another Puerto Rican restaurant with me. Unfortunately, the experience was a bit disappointing. I ordered the mofongo with chicken, and while the presentation was decent, the dish itself was very bland and extremely greasy. Mofongo usually has such rich garlic and savory flavors, but this one lacked seasoning. My husband ordered a chicken empanada, and sadly his dish was also quite bland. It seemed like the chicken may not have been seasoned before breading, and even the breading itself had very little flavor. For a $70 total bill, I was really hoping for something that captured the bold, comforting flavors Puerto Rican food is known for. This is not a bad restaurant, and the staff seemed nice, but for someone looking for a truly authentic Puerto Rican taste, it didn’t quite meet the expectations I had. I still appreciate the effort and hope they continue improving their flavors.
