The man that attends at the meat is extremely rude. I was craving an horchata and I said hello twice in my most friendly tone and did not even get a response from the lady. I'm sure they must be good workers because I've heard this same experience and they are still there, but you should know off hand your working in customer service and if I can't even get a friendly hello then you're working in the wrong area.
I haven’t been to this store in years because of previous negative experiences with both the restaurant and the grocery store. The restaurant is overly priced one large Horchata is almost 8 dollars and it’s not even homemade grocery items look outdated and the produce isn’t that well. They also wanna charge a $10 minimum on debit. They wouldn’t even let me buy just a water would not recommend.
I've shopped here since I was a kid! (I am white/European and I speak very very minimal Spanish) Staff are very helpful. Tamales go quick on the weekend, but you can call the day ahead to reserve some, which is great! Different bread/pastries every day and day old conchas are discounted (great to freeze)
Authentic Mexican cuisine within the grocery store! Best of both worlds! And Horchata!!!
I've been ordering food here for the last while and it. is. awesome!!! I usually get the big quesadilla without jalapenos and grilled chicken with the rice and beans. Oh my gosh, I can't help myself but get the same thing every time. I highly highly HIGHLY recommend the food here. It's always prepared so well and just the right combo of veggies. Thanks!! :)
One of the more authentic places, whether you're looking for Mexican groceries or take-out food. Though their menu offering is somewhat light, all of the staple foods are there (burritos, tacos, tortas). Meat offerings are your standard fare, limited vegetarian options. However, for all that they sell, price, quality, flavor, texture, portion size, and consistency are excellent. As a trained butcher and skilled cook myself, i can proudly say that I am repeat customer for their take-out.
Amazing tacos! Being from the DC area and traveling a lot especially the east coast these are probably the best I’ve ever had and I imagine they are the best in town!
Absolutely amazed at the quality of tacos. I had the chicken, steak, and chicharrón. Homemade tortillas, large potion of fillings, great salsa, and the owner wakes up at 5am every morning to make fresh breads and pastries. Try something you won’t find in most Mexican bakeries- the cheese custard filled sweet breads. I’m definitely coming back!
