Man oh man… La Veranda was absolutely INCREDIBLE. From the moment we walked in, everything was top-tier — the service, the food, the atmosphere, and especially the owner. I truly couldn’t have asked for a grander experience. I literally felt like I had stepped into Jamaica’s finest dining restaurant. The ambiance was elegant yet warm, the flavors were authentic and unforgettable, and every detail was intentional. The crazy part? My mother is a regular, but this was my friends’ and my first time — and now I completely understand why she keeps coming back. This place is special. A HUGE thank you for not only the amazing hospitality but also for holding onto my belongings when I accidentally left my jacket with my expensive glasses behind. That level of honesty and care speaks volumes about the integrity of this establishment. Michelle, thank you for creating such an incredible atmosphere and running your business with so much love and excellence. You can feel it the moment you walk in. Trust me — every single time I visit Miami, I will absolutely be driving up to Plantation to see you all again. I only wish we had something like this back home in New Orleans! Thank y’all so much for the unforgettable experience. 10/10 across the board. 🇯🇲✨
I was there last night for the first time. Felt welcomed as I walked in. The young girl in front in red was very nice and helped me with my order. Sat at the bar while I waited for my order that was overpriced. Charged close to $30 for my drink
Was invited to this restaurant for a birthday dinner with friends; let me say the atmosphere wasn’t bad, the food was mediocre and the service was horrible! As I’m typing this review we are still waiting on the cheque after 1 hour. The table next to ours was in and out. Why because it was the commissioner. He came after us, left before us and we are still waiting. He was waited on by the so called “manager/owner” who was rude and not decently dressed; wearing some little tank top and Jean shorts which is not restaurant approved. She claimed that she was helping out but only attended the one table. I’m glad she didn’t serve my food with all her under arm exposed. The poor server Fantasia was fantastic. The poor lady was the server, waitress, bartender and bus girl! To add insult to injury we were charged an additional $25 to cut the cake and use their utensils. As for me and my household we would not be going back there ever again!
I attended La Veranda last night with two of my in-laws and had an exceptional experience. The staff were extremely polite and engaging, making us feel warmly welcomed throughout the evening. In particular, our young server, the delightful Ashley, went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and well taken care of. I enjoyed the classic Braised Oxtail, served in a rich, flavorful sauce that was perfectly complemented by a bowl of traditional Rice & Peas and a side of steamed vegetables, all for a reasonable $29. The dish was authentic and satisfying, showcasing true Jamaican culinary excellence. Adding to the ambiance was the Saturday night mix of live music, which created a lively and enjoyable atmosphere without overpowering conversation. It was the perfect soundtrack to a wonderful meal and made the night even more memorable. Overall, La Veranda offers fantastic food, attentive service, and a vibrant atmosphere – I highly recommend it for anyone looking to experience authentic Jamaican cuisine in a welcoming setting!
Was really craving some island food so this sounded great. The food was incredible! It was hard to stop eating even after I was full. They definitely don't need to work on the flavor. I think the atmosphere could use some tweaking to make it more inviting. I enjoyed the music when I first sat down as it was reggaebut then it changed to disco. And it was a bit loud. I was there by myself but I can only imagine trying to have a conversation with someone with that volume. Even ordering was hard to hear. Another thing is I know that the food is prepared to order but it's definitely on the slow side. I ordered blackened salmon with rice and peas and some bammys. It took 40 minutes from the time I received my cocktail till I received my food. That is a long time considering that even cooking rice from scratch take 20-25 mins. Salmon doesn't take that long and there weren't very many tables ( maybe 5) in the restaurant at the time. So close to an hour from the time I walked until I was to eat. That's a slow turnover of tables. All in all, the food is definitely worth going for but don't be in a rush to go somewhere else. Shout out to my server who was able to help with my order.
Wonderful evening at La Veranda with family, great service thank you Fantasia for a great service, your so pleasant, kind smile, at the end she gave us prayer all around great evening, food came on time and so delicious awesome atmosphere 😀 will come back.
The service and the food was amazing! I highly recommend any time you're in the area stop by. The owners make sure that they are on site meeting and greeting each client. The best Jamaican food and reggae band for entertainment. I can't wait to go back!
The curried goat was excellent. Their rice and peas was moist and flavorful. The steamed vegetables were not over broiled, veg maintained crunch and has flavor. The restaurant's service staff worked tirelessly to ensure that I was satisfied and even offered, then gave, me a side serving of avocado; gratis! I highly recommend their food and intend on giving them another visit very soon.
