See All ReviewsWe visited last night and ordered a horchata, but it was completely undrinkable. The drink was noticeably gooey and incredibly sticky. While it didn't have a strong smell, the texture was a clear indicator that the milk mixture had gone completely bad. I have never experienced a horchata with a thick, gooey consistency like this before. Serving spoiled ingredients is a major health risk. Management needs to look into their expiration dates immediately to prevent anyone from getting sick.
I haven't been to Las fresas since November. I went back today to get my kids their strawberries and cream and thought I'd get myself a shrimp cocktail (cóctel de camarón). When she handed me my cocktail I was taken aback by how dark it was. It didn't look like it normally did. It looked like way less shrimp in the container and it looked like it was just ketchup inside. I mentioned this to the lady at the window twice. In English and Spanish and she said it's the same recipe as always (it's not) and refused to acknowledge my comment on how little shrimp were in the container. She assured me it would taste the same because they"followed the recipe". I just left it alone and drove off. $9.99 for shrimp with ketchup... 🙄 Well it gets worse because as soon as I opened it I could smell ONLY ketchup! Then I counted the shrimp and I paid just about $1 per shrimp. There were only 11 shrimp in the container.. the rest was ketchup. Oh oh and the three slivers of avocado and one tiny 1/4th of a lime 👍 I forgot to mention I had to ring the bell twice and even thought they were closed because they were taking so long to arrive at the window. I started looking up the business on Google maps just to make sure they were actually open when the lady finally came to the window, no apology offered but she did smile at me. All around a bad, overpriced experience. It's too bad because this was the only decent place to get shrimp cocktail besides having to drive to Houston. Just saw a note that this place is under new ownership as of December 2025 and yup that explains my horrible experience. Never again.
A refreshing new Modern spin on Mexican snack. Place is hip to the new trends, but I feel snack are in need of a bit more. I had the corn cup, but the toppings where minimal and lacking. Aguas frescas where too thick, but I love the attempt and will go back. Service is a little lacking, I feel workers could be a little more hospitable.
