Not the best experience for my first time. I called in an order, and the gentleman who answered hung up on me twice. After finally getting my order placed, I drove over to pick up my 4 tacos, only to find out they had no record of my order. I placed the order again in person, repeating my name three times, and they still managed to get it wrong. The food was greasy for my taste and honestly, I'm not sure I'd give this place another try
Las Huastecas ⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3/5) Las Huastecas was packed, even for a Wednesday morning, which immediately set expectations high. A full dining room midweek usually signals consistency and value—and while the value is absolutely there, the food itself was uneven. I sampled several plates, starting with the cheese enchiladas. While this is a simple dish, it’s one that reveals a kitchen’s fundamentals. Unfortunately, these were underwhelming. The filling lacked richness, the sauce didn’t elevate the dish, and the overall flavor never came together. The tortilla, however, stood out—smooth, soft, and tasting close to homemade, easily the best part of the plate. The beans were serviceable but forgettable, and the steak that accompanied the dish was thin-cut, slightly dry, and lacking the seasoning or juiciness needed to make it memorable. The al pastor tacos were the biggest letdown. The meat had the expected red tint from its marinade—likely achiote-based—but the marinade dominated the entire flavor profile. Even after properly dressing the tacos with onions, cilantro, lime, and salsa, the bites felt oddly hollow. There was little depth beyond the marinade itself, and again, the tortilla did most of the work. Service was good—not exceptional, but attentive and efficient. Our server took care of us without issue, which helped maintain a pleasant experience. Where Las Huastecas truly shines is price. The value is excellent, portions are fair, and for the cost, it’s easy to see why the place stays busy. Three stars feels right: great value, strong tortillas, solid service—but the proteins and seasoning fall short of what the crowd and reputation suggest.
Food its always great never fails, but there's a waitress there that everytime we go and shes our waitress shes always demanding for a tip, when we pay with card she always tells us "please sign here and if you would like to leave a tip you can written it here" keep in mind we leave a cash tip on the table, so after signing the receipt and giving it back she looks at it and tell you again with an attitude the tip goes right here! We love eating there but for future visit we definitely will be ordering to go!
