See All ReviewsI don't know how long this place has been open for, but I get the feeling that they're still learning how to be a restaurant. Based on other reviews and my experience. Other reviews say that there were flies, that it smelled like dirty mop water. I didn't experience any of that. No flies, smelled like food. A few weird things: 1. I asked for a manzanita sol and they gave me a cold can. No cup or ice. Not the end of the world, but you gotta have cups. 2. Their restroom doesn't have paper towels or hand dryer. 3. The seating in there is kinda bad. They have tables in front of the bathroom where the tables are so close to each other that you can't pull out the chairs because there's no room. 4. When I walked in, one of the ladies TOLD me what food they have. Every item. I have ADHD, I wasn't going to remember anything she said. So I asked if they had a menu and she led me to the register where they have pictures of the food. And then I noticed their menu is painted on the wall. They should just have menus. I got the "empalmes" which are two tortillas together with beans, cheese, and carne inside. They were CHARRED, not burnt. I think they overdid it a little, but I loved the char. And I'm sorry but if you don't like your food charred, then that's your problem. Just tell them that you want lame empalmes. The empalmes themselves were pretty alright. Not bad, not special, (except for that char 🥰) The lady working there gave me two tacos for free and told me that they're going to start selling them. They were alright, need more salt and flavor. Overall, I can tell that they're trying but they need to improve in several aspects.
Honestly one star is too much. The chicharrones was all far hardly any meat. The avocado was bad. Was so greasy. They had their children there at work playoff with the forks and napkins. Kid walking all them. The place was so hot. Need better ventilation. All I did was wait for them to out the platter of chicharrones and I came out smelling like oil. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.
Food is good..not alot of variety since I went late. But I enjoyed their food I will be back soon.
