Ordered the large extra meat lamb platter and it came with two small pieces of lamb. When I said something they looked at me like they knew exactly what they did and then made me more meet. Truly felt like they were trying to rip me off. And even with the extra meat it was not worth the price. I’ve been to the Middle East and this was not up to par.
The chicken shawarma was delicious, but the real star of the show was the fresh Syrian style hummus. Overall the food was very fresh and this place is great. Will be returning.
I visited tonight expecting a mediocre vegan option at the Southern Market food hall. Boy was I happily mistaken! We ordered both the muhammara hummus and the stuffed grape leaves, and both were the best we've ever had! The hummus was velvety smooth and indulgently creamy, and the grape leaves perfectly balanced in texture and flavor. I can't believe I'm saying this about such "simple" dishes, but I have a feeling I'm gonna be thinking about this unexpectedly lovely meal for a very long time. (Note to patrons: be sure to indicate if you want a vegan option; many of the dishes have a sprinkling of feta)
