My wife and I tried 3 different items from the menu and I didn't really like any of them. It wasn't necessarily bad, it was just very forgettable food. The wait was long back when I went. Doesn't seem to ever be busy here anymore, and I drive by it everyday. Not surprising at all since the food is forgettable. I wish it was better, truly I do. But it just wasn't. I should give it another try but I don't want to waste the money if that tells you anything. I want local places to thrive but unfortunately I don't think this place will.
Chose to try Leftys after seeing the one in Detroit on the news. I posted 3 photos. 1st is the Lefty's Cheesesteak. 2nd is the Grim Reaper. And 3rd is the SouthPaw. ***The Lefty's Cheesesteak 8" -was basic. Only meat and cheese as shown. The photos online showed it with the sweet cherry pepper sauce but this does not come with it. Had I known I would have added it. But alas it was just basic and nothing special. I give it 2stars. I was disappointed in my choice. ***The Grim Reaper 12" -spicy but not what he'd call hot and didn't seem to have Reaper powder or any Reaper type sauce. If you like hot is would be good. But if you are looking for a nice spicy burn or are hot/spicy food conisur this will lack luster for you. ***The SouthPaw 12" -was drenched in liquid cheese sauce. If you like cheesy hoagies this is a good choice. It also has Flaming hot cheetos on it, but as most people know flaming hot cheetos are to that hot. This one was the teenagers choice and he liked it. BUN -All of them were on a bun that resembled a slightly oversized footlong hot dog bun. I assumed the bun would be a good sturdy hoagie bread but no. It was a squishy hot dog bun consistency. Not horrible but not what I expected for a hoagie bun. MEAT -decent amount of meat. Definately more then you get at Subway. For that Lefty's would be my choice over Subway 💯. It's not just burgers and fries, there were some good options. I'd go back to at least try a few other sandwiches. Curly Fries -great! Seasoned well, cooked perfectly. I assume they are just frozen fries and deep fried, but don't know. SERVICE -It is drive thru only, which is fine. However, upon arrival it looked closed. Lights were hard to see and we went in the early afternoon around 3pm-ish. Hard to hear the speaker attendant. The over pass is right there so that didn't help any. But could be louder on the speaker. When pulling up to the pay window no one greated you. We waited for about 7mins. I feel someone should have greated and said "Hi, it'll be a few mins we are making it", or something. Then when attendant did come he said "total owed amount." That was it. Took payment and handed food. But he did say "have a nice day" after handing the last bag of food. Maybe I'm old school but when I worked in restaurants, fast food included, we were taught good customer service. Greeting the customer when pulling up at window, a little politeness/courtesy, etc. By no means were they rude at all. But I'd say it was OK service. I do account for fact places are working under staffed still but there was 2 workers and no one else in line or ordering. ***OVERALL -We'd go back. It was better then alot of places around and staff was not rude. Prices are about $10-13 per hoagie. So comparative to other fast food joints around here. For this visit I'd just say stay away from the plain Lefty's cheesesteak or at least be sure to add the pepper sauce, since that sandwhich was just ehhhh and boring. The other two sandwiches were good.
Chili fries where soupy and oily. My drink is flat The sandwich was man handled and missing sauce and sauerkraut. Absolutely terrible. Will not be going to this location again
