Really Good BBQ. Very Nostalgic, classic bbq joint
Ordered a shoulder a week ahead to be picked up. Called Starnes (which I normally ordered from) and Leigh’s. Both quoted price to be $65. Starnes is always good but decided to go with Leighs since it is close to where I live and I used to hear their food was good. I thought this would be a better location, since my husband would have to pick it up since I was going to be out of town that morning. I didn’t tell my husband the expected price. He picked it up that Saturday morning and was charged $90. This was $25 more than I was quoted.My husband had no idea and paid this. The Bbq was terrible! Worst we’ve ever had. Ended up throwing most of it away. I did call and received the answering machine. I left a detailed message with my name, phone number and messaged about what the quoted price had been compared to what I was charged. I never mentioned how bad the barbecue was on the message. Apparently they didn’t care about my message, didn’t care that they overcharged me. I will never buy from them again. Since this episode in December, I’ve had other individuals to tell me apparently the father is letting the son take over and how the barbecue has definitely changed. I’ve been told from others they will not buy barbecue there again. Leigh’s has be around forever and used to be very good. I’m not sure if it has totally changed hands already or just in the process.
The BEST! My mom and dad would always order a shoulder to bring back to michigan after visiting Ollie and Viola Holt from Wickliffe….Its been a long time since I’ve been (stuck in michigan) but this is the BEST and the bar b q sauce is so delicious! Hope the building hasn’t changed! I highly recommend your place! The pork is so tender and delicious! Sandy Carpenter
