See All ReviewsI am totally flabbergasted at the behavior of the owner of Lenox Jerk, on W Mcnichols, in Detroit Mi , I order my food, he tells me it will be ready in 15 minutes, about 30 minutes pass, I hadn’t gotten a call, so I go in there and he tells me it will be 3 minutes, I’m like ok, I pay for my food the 3 minutes pass, I still don’t get my food, by this time, I express to him I want my money back because this didn’t make any sense to be disrespectful and you scratched in your head without gloves on and went to fix my food, then have the nerve to tell me that you don’t want bad money in your store , how dare you talk to a customer like that , and furthermore my money was good until you performed BAD service. My thing like I told him, you don’t promise a customer something and don’t do it, then treat them rude, that’s unacceptable , and totally inappropriate as well as using foul language on the phone, while customers are present in your place of business was very ghetto and ignorant. That was my first and last time ever stepping foot in there again.
My daughter picked up an oxtail dinner for me for $37. There were only 2 thin cut oxtails and a small piece of some other beef. The meat was under seasoned and the cabbage was horrible. The cabbage had green beans, carrots, and sweet peas in it. The best thing was the rice. The food use to be good, but this new cook is awful. The vegetables in the cabbage were under cooked, but the potatoes and carrots in the oxtail/ roast weren’t. This was a horrible oxtail soup. If you want something good, then order the rice.
Went tonight picked up an order been before and the food was amazing however today 3/4/26 the cabbage was something I’ve never seen before extremely overcooked, soggy and over seasoned. Tried to call to give my complaint but the phone line is out of order. When someone is spending their money their hard earned money it’s unfair. They could have just said it’s no cabbage today instead of serving anything.
