See All ReviewsOur son has moved to Bayonne, NJ and there is street only parking... and it's horrible. If you want to go out for a bite, you need walk, and the Lighthouse was a few blocks away. We'll, well, weren't we lucky. What a great diner. Lighthouse is in a more of a corner store front restaurant look than your traditional diner, but the menu is beyond diner extensive. Everything you would expect, and more. Ever notice how diner menus can be so extensive that you can have a hard time making a decision. In any event, our waitress sat us within seconds, and everything was spot on for the rest of our visit. My wife and our son ordered panini sandwiches and opted in on the good ol' hot open turkey w/mashed. Btw, try their unsweetened ice tea, it's homemade, and it's great. Overall, five+ stars.
I recently visited The Lighthouse Restaurant and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt unwelcoming and rushed. Instead of being greeted warmly, we were met with impatience. What stood out the most was the lack of basic food handling practices — I observed staff touching food without gloves, which was concerning. Cleanliness and food safety should always be a priority. The most unpleasant part of the visit, however, was the interaction at the front desk. The older woman working there had a very dismissive and rude attitude, which set the tone for the entire experience. Customer service goes a long way, and this felt completely lacking. I’m sharing this in hopes that management takes feedback seriously and works on improving both service and food safety standards.
I ordered the seafood bisque. Very disappointing, cheap though so there's that. It tasted like chef Boyasrdee sauce with the faintest taste of, seafood, I guess.
