I had such a great experience at Ling Long Xuan today. A huge thank you to JJ the owner who was honestly so sweet and made us feel right at home. It’s rare to find such genuine hospitality these days. The service was amazing and the food came out so fast. Everything was piping hot and tasted incredible. You can tell they really care about the quality of what they serve. If you want authentic food and a welcoming vibe, you have to check this place out. I will definitely be coming back soon!
Amazing: authentic pan-Chinese fare in the deadest dead zone to ever die. Our best dishes were the Xinjiang Style Lamp, the Fried Loofah with Gluten and the Filet Sole With Vegetable Hot Pot. This last dish is a rarity even at Szechuan restaurants. The fish was buttery soft while being perfectly fried, the mala seasoning was hot and flavorful, and all the veggie accompaniments were perfectly cooked. On this one dish alone, I'd schlep back to this slice of urban wasteland. Our just okay dishes were the Sliced Spicy Beef Noodle Soup (too oily and bland) and the Chinese Burger with Lamb--the bun was perfectly crispy and the lamb well made, but someone clearly forgot to season the dish because it was way too bland. I felt bad because they were clearly proud of their "authentic" Beijing burger, but without salt....No? We also got some complimentary spicy pig ears to try. No idea why, but I'm not complaining. I love pig ears. Still, that mala fish dish. It slaps harder than whatever BTS releases next. Go here just for that.
I sat at a completely empty table for 4 in an EMPTY RESTAURANT. Was made to sit in a corner in the back. "We're expecting a lot of people for lunch". Why not a table up front for two ? Or just let me sit at the table I picked. Why the back? Seems very weird. Especially since right in front of me, two people sat at tables meant for 4. And then one person, sat at a table meant for 4. Pretty rude, considered they weren't asked repeatedly how many ppl were in their party, or asked to move. Chongqing chicken was "ehhh". Not spicy AT ALL, and not crispy. I can't give a higher rating, based on how I, a PAYING CUSTOMER was treated. She was rude to another potential customer as well.
