a year agoWe stopped in on a whim, it was a take out only day - so we got take out and brought it home but we could have gone around the corner to Wickham Park. This little place is the epitome of a one man hole in the wall, so be aware that hours or table service can be subject to change. The food was amazing, like legitimately some of the best Cajun we’ve had since New Orleans. Great flavor and spice levels! Between the 3 of us we had the best hand pies, blackened chicken Alfredo, and the blackened chicken Cajun pasta, and of course dirty rice and beignets. I could live on the dirty rice alone! We will definitely be back for more. The portions were large enough for two meals, and very reasonably priced for both the size and the homemade taste.

a year agoDecided to see the fare at Lizette's and was not disappointed. Gator bites were tender and the sauce was great! I got the Cajun pasta with jerked chicken and the wife got gumbo extra +1 spicy. Both were awesome and spicy!!!! Just like we like it.

a year agoFound a gator bites place that is a mom and pop restaurant in Melbourne! Lizette’s Cajun Bistro is a little best kept secret! The food was delicious, and filled us up well! Compliments to the chef!

3 years agoThe food at this establishment was exceptional ! We will definitely go back. We met the Chef to let him know about the delicious foods he prepares, he was very humbled. Definitely a go to for date night, going with good friends, anniversary etc. etc etc. We enjoyed everything! They have food choices for everyone. Photos below Catfish, shrimp and veggies Shrimp & Grits No photo- appetizer was Fried Green Tomatoes nice crispy and light.

3 years agoFirst I like to say Thank you for the Best Service I had since I been in Florida. . The Server to the Chef came out and talk to us while the food was blazing hot and fresh. This place is a must go to and eat. Bring your appetite because it’s no Joke. The food is Fresh and dine in is super clean. I’ll be back no questions ask. I would had gave it a 10. The bomb.

4 years agoI have been dying to try this place since I heard they opened! New Orleans is one of the most magical cities I’ve ever visited and their food is some of the best in the world imo. I have already been back many times and have had a great experience every time. My largest critique is they are often out of certain foods, to my disappointment, the Gator Bites (I’ve yet to call or go at the right time so far) Yes-it breaks my heart eAch time as good gator is hard to come by and I know they would do it right! BUT- we live in different times these days and it’s not the businesses fault, so I anxiously await being able to have their gator bites when that chance arrives. The chef and owners mother sang beautiful music while we dined, which more often than not is annoying, THIS however, was elegant and set the mood. Soft and gentle yet upbeat that was the perfect background noise and did not interfere with our tables conversation. The food was just amazing! Everything was cooked so beautifully. Crispy, yet tender fried oysters with so many fun sauces to partake in. Every bite was new. The fried green tomatoes with plump large shrimp was done RIGHT! (I’m a southern girl and I know my fried tomatoes) The crab cake was very good, but the least favorite of them all. Only one came and is stated as “cakes” on the menu. A tad bland compared to the other dishes bold flavors, but a little sauce and it was devoured too. THE GUMBO! My goodness! My mouth did a tango and it had SOME HEAT! Probably too much for many, but not for my party. 11/10! Best gumbo I have ever had.

4 years agoStaff is nice. Restaurant is clean. There is outdoor seating. The menu has something for everyone. There is an ample kids menu. The gator bites are delicious. I could eat a dish of these alone! My party had shrimp and grits, and gumbo. The gumbo is a different take than what I’m used to, yet it is flavorful and delicious. The cornbread was a bonus. The chef came to our table to check that the food tasted good which it did. The daily specials are worth making a visit into the restaurant for. We got full with our entrees but the desserts looked delicious as well. We will be back for seafood Mac and cheese. I would recommend making a trip in for some delicious Cajun cuisine.

Edited 4 years agoGood food. I went with a few friends and they had mixed reviews. Some like the food and others though lesser. Let me first say that I am NOT the best judge of Cajun food, but with my exquisite taste for Jamaican food and spices across the globe this is my take. My friend had the shrimp poboy and I tasted the shrimps, they were big, tasty and cooked perfect and came the huge bread. 🥖 I had the Shrimp Étouffée. The tomatoes, onions, sweet pepper and other base vegetable were cooked with a bit of salt (I normally seasoned with very little salt so this maybe normal for Cajun). The shrimp were very small and a bit over cooked. There was also broth like sauce at the bottom of the rice so I used a spoon to eat. Once again I am not too familiar with Cajun so I thought it was good. So would I revisit? Yes but I would go for the poboy, that seems like like a good choice.
