Food is fantastic! Honestly best breakfast in town. Great service. Large serving sizes. Seems cheaper than everywhere else. Not sure why it isn’t packed!
Wowzer, been wanting to try this hole in the wall restaurant out. I was very impressed with the meal that I had. I had the chicken fried steak and eggs, which is called the Rio Grande. It comes with hashbrowns, and I asked for a splash of gravy on them. Seriously it was a lot of food. But when I got the ticket for my indulgence. There was a $4 charge for the gravy. Talking about a profit. I was truly excited about bringing my family here and eating. But unfortunately, after this incident, I don’t believe I will. All I can say is stay the course on the menu. Do not get any add-ons or substitutions and it may be just great.
I come here often with my sister. The food is always good and you get BIG portions. It very affordable and I would suggest the Beef fajitas. The service is great. The conversations with the owners brother is aways funny and I always get a good laugh.
Ir was past my Breakfast time, I didn't want to leave Hwy 281 in Stephensville to eat. Saw Los Arcos that had no front entrance facing main highway. So i off ramped to side of building and went to back to enter . Although some of the furniture is in need of repair or replacement, the food was especially good, as well as the service. Ordered and enjoyed a mammoth sized Western Omelet at a going price.. The owner has her beautiful floral arrangements around the dining area. Some of her bouquets are refrigerated . Hanging from ceiling in one of dining areas are many finely laced knits/dailies. Overwhelmed by the flowers & knitwork in restaurant. Less would probably be better for appearance & sanitation.
Edit 2025-04-05: Had to reduce my rating a bit. Came back for a second try, and the food was seriously lacking. Tortillas were stale (did not taste homemade) and hard. Breakfast flavor was seriously lacking as well. Not sure if it was just an off day, but it was not good. Still odd that their food has no spice/heat (even the salsa). ********** Pretty good food. First place I have found locally that has huevos al la Mexicana. Sad that their salsa was not spicy at all though. And they don't have cremosa...
Kid friendly - high chairs available. The service was really good. The waitress was attentive and quick. The food all tasted great, but the "steak" in the chicken fried steak was pounded out thinner than any I've ever seen. It was just about a hair's width bigger than the large tine of the fork I was eating it with at its widest point. I was extremely disappointed with it. The salsa that came with the chips seemed homemade and was delicious. The chips themselves were very good. Everything was cooked perfectly. The unsweetened tea I ordered seemed fresh and was served in a 32oz. cup. The place was very clean. This place has a lot of potential to impress - as long as the steak isn't involved. That steak wafer cost the 2 stars I didn't give them.
The staff, food & experience was so good I can't wait to go back!!! The FRESH SALSA is fabulous!!! We had breakfast and loved every bite!!!!
Good home style food and friendly great service. Large portions of all kinds and breakfast served any time of day. Coffee cokes and tea are endless and always ready. Been going here for years and they are always consistently getting better. Great for those who are hungry and want that small town atmosphere.
