I got tacos and a breakfast special plate. I love that it was super fresh and the tortillas are homeade. The hot sauce are so good and spicy.
My 1st time experience and the food is awesome but SADLY there customer service is horrible. The girl cashier with the glasses, straight hair, and pimples has a miserable face, no help, no thank you, how can i help you, nothing just what else would you like, anything else, yeah okay next. Took me a minute to breath and calm down. But this will be the last time I come here and my family. Imagine, if your service was as good as your food. I know people say 1 person leaving brings another 2 through the door, but it's not like that all the time.
I don’t usually write reviews, but after this experience, I felt it was important to speak up. I visited Los Toritos to order food and was waiting with my grandbaby. For context, my grandbaby has a hemangioma on her forehead. While we were waiting, the owner approached me and, in a rude tone, repeatedly asked what had happened to my grandbaby’s head. I explained what it was, but she simply walked away without any acknowledgment or apology. I later asked to speak with her because I felt her approach was unprofessional and insensitive. Instead of showing understanding, she dismissed my concerns and said, “you’re fine,” completely disregarding how the interaction made me feel. As a business owner, it’s important to approach situations—especially involving children—with kindness and sensitivity rather than assumptions. This experience was disappointing and left me feeling very disrespected.
What a wonderful little hidden gem! This place was recommended by friends who live in the area and we were pleasantly surprised! You will not be disappointed. The boys at the front were knowledgeable and friendly. And patient! We had the tamales plate, bistec tacos, barbacoa tacos and breakfast tacos. Superb! Prices were reasonable and there's not much room for seating but with the taste and quality, I'd stand and eat!
Since I been in Houston for the past 2 years I have been looking for a good Mexican restaurant with homemade tortillas, and I finally found it... The food is delicious and made fresh not pre-made and put in containers like a buffet style. The place is clean and the employees are friendly... The menu has a lot to offer and the also have fresh tamales.
Definitely not worth $20 a dozen! Very disappointed & will not be going back! Ordered 3 dz, total was around $64 & they were mostly masa with VERY little meat!
Hidden gem! Homemade flour and corn tortillas and they are big! Taste on food is authentic and outstanding. My coworker recommended this place as she lives nearby has eaten there. Downfall, it was a little hot in the section we sat in towards the back. Highly recommend.
Small place that specializes in tamales. Haven't tried them but serve other food too. Breakfast tacos, lunch plates, etc. Have eaten here twice and both times not bad. Second visit, I tried the picadillo plate. Served with rice and beans. Choice of flower or corn tortillas. I had the flour, and they are homemade, large, and good. Will try the tamales soon. Sold by the dozen. Visit here to dine recommended.
