See All ReviewsOut of sheer curiosity, I happened to be visiting my hometown after 10 years living across the country. My Grandmother, Nell Jacobs, was the original owner of this Diner which was established in the 1960’s as “Aunt Nellie’s Kitchen.” I hoped that the quality of food and hometown atmosphere would at least be preserved on some level. It hasn’t been. The staff weren’t friendly, the food was, well it was there. It was an incredibly underwhelming experience. It saddens me to see you can’t come home again. Beyond this hollow shell of an establishment trying to portray some kind of small town aesthetic, Lovettsville has become unrecognizable as a gentrified millionaires playground.
If I could give this place 0 stars i would. There is nothing good about this so called “diner”, the workers are miserable, clearly have zero respect for their customers and are just blatantly rude. I am severely surprised that this diner still hasn’t been closed down. Get a health department in here ASAP!!! I was waiting for my food, I look over in the kitchen and one of the cooks was picking his nose, then, touching the food. None of the people here wash their hands, the entire time i was there i saw not a cashier, not a waitress, not a chef, wash their hands once. This really sucks that this is our only “breakfast place” here in lovettsville. The atmosphere looks like it has never been cleaned once. The food is overpriced and doesn’t even taste good. You can tell that the food they are using to cook is very low quality. I was walking on eggshells in that place because of how miserable those ladies were in there. Learn how to treat your customers with respect, maybe it’s time to close down this place. Try working at the McDonalds in brunswick, you would really fit in.
Blueberry pancakes are spot on!!!! Kitchen and service are quick. Food is consistent and delicious! If you want breakfast anywhere within an hour of Lovettsville - this is the place to go! Honestly, I cannot think of a better place to get breakfast. Definitely worth the trip.
