I have never in my life had my mouth water at a walk up restaurant like I did today. The smell made my mouth salivate. It made all the senses work. The gentlemen that served us were courteous, kind, told us how the meal orders worked, and told us how to make our money stretch. If I lived closer to here, I would come more often but I love almost 3,000 miles away. I will bookmark this restaurant for future reference. The greens were seasoned perfectly, with the correct amount of seasoning, textured appropriately (cleaned), and that was the beginning. That mac and cheese could have had more cheese but it was still amazing. The chicken, flavored with great herbs, with the skin melting off and the meat tender. The yams made me excited but I didn't get them because the portion sizes reminded me of Thanksgiving and I had no room to have the itis in my belly.

I saw this establishment on social media and I had to try it. Everything we order was delicious. My husband loved the turkey chops, mac and cheese and greens. I order the cat fish and cabbage. I wanted to try a new fish and I wasn't disappointed.

Overhyped and underwhelming! We visited Ma Lessie’s for the first time last week. I ordered the catfish with mac and cheese. I ordered my son 4 wings. The wings weren’t cleaned properly as there were feathers everywhere. For $4 a wing, they should be handled much better! The catfish was good but a better quality hot sauce should be offered. Oh and skip the mac and cheese. Not horrible but not good either.
