a month agoI've been going to Mad For Grill for years, before it was mad for grill and called Nak Won. Not sure if the owners changed but the food is still delicious. Of all the options in Annandale, especially when there are AYCE options, the reason why I choose this place are - The seafood pancake and cold noodles are the best here. And the kimchi is also very very good. Although it is not the cheapest option, in terms of taste, I tent to lean towards Mad For Grill.

a month agoBEST KOREAN RESTAURANT IN THIS AREA. If you want authentic tasting Korean food then go here. Everything from the 고기 to the 반찬 is superb. We tried a special blue crab dish and it was insanely good.

2 months agoI have not tried all KBBQ in the area yet, but so far this restaurant is most similar to KBBQ I have had in Korea. The banchan was really good and the kimchi was delicious, some of the best I've had at a restaurant. They provided lettuce for ssam right away, and in my experience around here, you usually have to ask for it! The meat was pretty good (samgyeopsal and chadolbaegi) and while it's not AYCE, we left very full. We also ordered the mandu which was homemade, fried perfectly, and came with a dipping sauce that reminded me of the one my mom used to make. Not too busy on a Saturday night, but there were mostly older Korean folks - a good sign you're about to get some legit Korean food!

5 months agoThe food was so good (would like a little salt) and the service was great. Our server was so nice and sweet and helpful. I will definitely come back again.

10 months agoI've had Korean BBQ in both Korea and the U.S., and this place hits all the right notes -- from the meats to the banchan (side dishes), everything feels like it was made with heart and heritage. We went with a group of three and got marinated galbi. It was melt-in-my-mouth tender, with that perfect sweet-savory balance. The portion was very generous, almost doubled than other places. What really stood out, though, were the banchan. Often an afterthought at many places, here they were abundant, fresh, and clearly homemade, including fresh kimchi that you just don't get from store-bought versions. The staff was attentive and friendly -- did the grill and quick to refill and bring more banchan without us even asking.

10 months agoThis place has great traditional Korean food restaurant. Not too many around in VA. Their pork belly is very good. Had pork skin marinated with veggies and it was great! Also had Korean oyster muchim and it’s something I haven’t had in US. Service and atmosphere is something you’ll find in Korea hole in the wall restaurants, but food is out great! This will be my go to Korean restaurant in NOVA. Definitely worth a try.

a year agoFor Korean bbq it was not the largest menu considering how many other places are in the area. This meal was a little pricey for what we got. We were told there were minimums on the meats we order but it wasn't listed on the menu. They would be better if it was more consistent with the quality and what they offer. At night the sign was hard to find since it doesn't light up but the ambiance in general was a good, no frills vibes. Overall service was nice but they tried to take away out galbi bones with meat still on it and we had to ask to keep so we could cook it. The bonchon options were good. I've had better haemul sundubu (the seafood tofo soup). for the price I expected more fatty brisket, but the quality was good.

2 years agoThis place is one of my favorite Korean B.B.Q restaurant! I usually get pork belly but they also have very beef grill as well. I come here every special day and the side dish(ban chan)foods are very good. Good service too!
