See All ReviewsI’m from NJ but have been here since 2000, and I’ve traveled extensively. This was one of the best dining experiences I’ve had; full stop. Everything was lovely to from start to finish. When the service and the food are both superlative, you have a winner. Run, don’t walk, to Majors… you can thank me later 😉
Appetizers of blistered Shishito peppers and Jammy eggs started off our dining experience, with a beautifully crafted cocktail, and what came next was certainly a treat! I didn’t even know yellowtail fish had collars! The presentation was gorgeous; a Perfectly prepared fish collar served with a soy/sake glaze-reduction , a perfectly fresh and bright lemon half to squeeze over, the Korean pickles delightfully crisp and flavorful, and those Charred green beans were heavenly !! Green tea tiramisu for dessert was perfect! Finishing off the meal with a heady herbal digestif was such a nice surprise! Thank you Major’s; the atmosphere, the food, the music, the attention to detail; we have a sparkling diamond on Main Street in Valdese!!
Major’s is the sweet little gem you need to frequent, stat! Snag a seat near the windows and enjoy the street view while savoring the artfully prepared offerings. The menu is small but mighty, which is the key to its ability to deliver on flavor and taste. One bite of the Katsu sandwich and I swooned. Crunchy and soft and savory and sweet—talk about an umami flavor bomb! In a world shaped by Duke, I stand by Kewpie mayo, folks! While I hesitate to open the flood gates into this fabulous new kid on the block(too late!) the chef and collaborators behind Major’s deserve their due. And I’ve been told I can order the Katsu on speed dial, so there’s that in my future 😛
