See All Reviews⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Must-Stop Between Home and the Beach! Mama Lain’s Cafe is everything you hope a small-town cafe will be — and then some. The moment you walk through the door of the historic Walters Building (1907!), you feel like you’ve stepped into something special. The exposed brick walls, warm wood floors, and eclectic charm give it a character that’s impossible to fake. I ordered the Mama Lain’s Omelet — packed with ham, sausage, bacon, tomatoes, onions, bell peppers, spinach, mushrooms, jalapeños, and cheese — and it was absolutely phenomenal. Paired with cheesy hashbrowns, it was the kind of breakfast that sticks with you. But let’s talk about that butter pecan milkshake. If you’re heading to the beach and driving through Samson, do yourself a favor and stop in for one — even if you’re not hungry. It’s rich, creamy, and the perfect road-trip treat. And on the way back home, sun-tired and happy? There’s no better way to cap off a beach trip than swinging back through for one last shake before the drive home. Vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, and butter pecan — pick your poison. The staff are warm, genuine, and full of wonderful stories about old Samson and the building’s rich local history. You leave feeling like you made friends, not just had a meal. Beach traffic passes right through this area — don’t just drive by. Pull in. You won’t regret it. Mama Lain’s is a hidden gem that deserves to be on every coastal traveler’s radar. We’ll absolutely be back!
