2 weeks agoSo, this is the best pho in town! The broth is so rich and delicious. The chicken is tender and all white meat. I also love the fresh tofu rolls with their peanut sauce! It’s not fancy inside, but it’s comfortable and the service is quick and they are friendly. If you want feel good food this place is a must!

3 months agoIf you’re looking for some pho in the Tacoma area Mama’s Pho needs to be your next stop! From steaming flavorful beef broth (star of the show!) that hits the spot every time, to perfect noodles, and great cuts of meat, Mamas just hits different! I’d give more stars if I could. Best pho!!! Service is OUTSTANDING!

7 months agoI’m concerned about the food safety here. I ordered a pho and found some pink particles floating in the soup that were not dissolvable in water — definitely not meat. When I asked the server about it, he simply said he couldn’t see anything and offered no explanation. I left unsure of what was actually in the pho.

Edited 5 months agoI think the pho here is the best in town. They really do have the best broth—not too thick but still flavorful. The meat is very delicious. Tip: mix the siracha with the hoisin sauce and dip the meat in. It is very good. 😊

8 months agoBest pho spot in town! I’m asian and grew up eating homemade pho all the time, I know what good pho is, have tried several pho spots and this spot is the best! I love their seafood pho, came with lots of variety of seafood (shrimp, squid, fish meatballs, imitation crab) and their prices are good as well. My mom got the combination pho bowl that came with all meats and there was a generous portion of meat as well. People always mention how the service is non-existent and it’s true they don’t come up and check on you or anything but it’s more of a you go up to the counter and ask for whatever you need type of thing. I love this place, the pho, the food 10/10!

Edited a month agoMama Pho has really delicious noodle soup, and I’ve always appreciated the friendly service from the Vietnamese gentleman and the owner’s daughter. The flavors are always on point, and it’s a cozy spot for solid Vietnamese food. That said, I did have a concerning experience. An older Vietnamese woman brought my wife’s bowl of soup over while wearing gloves, but one of the glove fingers was actually inside the soup. I also noticed that dine-in customers are given plastic forks, and whenever we ask for metal forks, it seems to upset the staff. Using a plastic fork for hot soup just doesn’t feel as nice, and it’s adding to landfill waste. Despite these issues, the food is really good, and the owner’s daughter and the gentleman are wonderful to interact with. I just hope the restaurant addresses these small issues, so it’s a more comfortable experience. I may dine here a bit less often, but the soup is still fantastic.

11 months agoThe main perk about this spot is that they are open late and that their prices are probably the lowest in the area. Now the service is non-existent and the quality is definitely not high quality. The spring roll arrives in plastic wrap which I think is off putting but I do appreciate that size and the peanut sauce that comes with it. My boyfriend enjoyed his egg roll. We usually order the combination pho but wanted to try something different this visit and got the Bun Bo Hue. It was actually spicy but there wasn't much meats which was unfortunate. The inside isn't really worth talking about. There is a fish tank but it looks unsanitary. They don't really stock up tables with anything as we saw that our table was out of soup spoons. I asked the waiter for something but he never arrived with it. Additionally, they have a garbage can outside but they insist only customers should use it, which again is odd. Other than that, it's decent but if you are looking for a nice restaurant with good quality food then probably not the best spot. But a spot that hits late night or pho cravings on a rainy Washington weather then this is it for you.
