4 months agoMe and my boyfriend ate here tonight for the first time and it was a 10/10 experience! The restaurant was very clean, they have beautiful decorations, the vibe was very cute, and our server was very nice and attentive. Our food was absolutely amazing! I got the chicken pad thai and let me preface this by saying it is one of my favorite asian dishes and I have tried lots of pad thai at different restaurants around Des Moines and I have struggled to find pad thai that compares to a restaurant called Nut Pob, but this exceeded my expectations and it was the best i’ve ever had. My boyfriend got the angry beef with rice and i tried it, it had a very good flavor and the meat and vegetables were cooked perfectly. We will definitely be returning and telling all our friends and family about them!

6 months agoIt seems that every single time I go in and grab my order for pick up. It's always the wrong order. I had ordered beef and broccoli. The last two times I've been there and had either receive chicken and broccoli and just now I had received beef lo mein this is getting ridiculous.

7 months agoLast two times ordered takeout pad Thai, no scrambled egg in it. Time before that had to wait 30+ extra minutes after arrived twenty minutes when told would be ready. Had two orders and one was cold? Noodles were sticky and weird textured this time as well. Months ago was great!

7 months agoWent for supper and the food was divine! They have the BEST crab rangoon around!! Our waiter was a lot of fun and kept our glasses full. Highly recommend!!

8 months agoIve been a customer for years, over 20 to be exact. I thought the food was always pretty decent. The hit and sour soup that they had was my favorite thing but they dont have that anymore. Today was the last day that I will be a patron to this business. Ive watched the portion size go down in size consistently for quite some time, but today what I received in my delivery was shameful. Truly. The owner should be ashamed. My hand is bigger than the entire order with rice that I got. Sub par lo mein. It was like soup, wrong noodles, bland terrible taste. Rice was barely a ice cream soup literally. I was charged $30. Owner wouldn't refund my money, and that is what it is, but i would of if roles were reversed. People need to start standing up and voicing these things. When there is predatory sellers, price gouging, anything that is clearly ridiculous as this retailers and food vendors will only further take advantage of you if we dont start making these thing said in places such as google maps. This,I believe, for me anyways is the final time. This was so so ridiculous. I ordered a menu item. They brought me a lunch item. Clearly we know why right. If you ordersoup just know there is One size of soup, and thats small. Charge you for the price of a large though thats assured. Maybe I should cool down before wrting this, but thats how offended I am with the $30 I just through to the wind. I ate my meal and am still starving. Does that put into your head what im talking about? Stand up to people who continue to capitalize off the covid times price gouging. Stay home and keep your money in the bank and your butt in the kitchen. Mandarin Cafe BOOOOOOOOOOO Food quality is nothing as it was. Negative 10 on taste flavor. I cannot believe I just got scammed on brown water noodles

11 months agoI bought this after hearing great reviews from other people and wanting to try a new place. In return it was some of the worst not only food but service ever. Half of the containers were half full and the quality of the food was horrible. The noodles were stiff as rice and only worked after practically re cooking them. 150 dollars worth for food that was no where close to that. When I called the place proceeded to tell me no refunds and that they were "trying to leave to go home" as I made the 1 hour roundtrip again. And proceeded to hang up on me multiple times on my way in. The second time the food came, the difference between the chicken was absolutely insane. The original food was old, previously cooked and left out, and disgusting.

2 years agoFood was very good and came out hot it was a little slow coming out, but it was worth the wait... delicious. Staff was very friendly and courteous Reasonably priced dishes
