The food was amazing 👏 we spent 80 bucks between two people we had liver chicken and lamb the food was so good it melted in our mouth. The bone stew was good also .
This is the first time we were trying some Yemeni cuisine at this restaurant. Overall good experience with the customer service. The dishes we ordered were also pretty good although different than what we were used to. We really enjoyed the lentil soup served complementary in the beginning. It was a great welcome on a cold night! One has to have a taste for Yemeni food otherwise you may not enjoy it as much. We loved the warm bread & side of rice. Overall good experience at this restaurant
Got the regular Lamb Mandi. It was absolutely amazing! The best part was that it was a carry out and finally a restaurant that does not force you to tip!!! Yes, there shouldn’t be any tip for carry out orders! Loved the Mandi!! Two meals!
Mandi King is a good place to enjoy authentic Mandi. The flavors are solid, the portions are satisfying, and the meat is cooked well. Their menu is a bit limited and doesn’t offer many options, but what they do serve is consistently good. If you’re craving Mandi and want something straightforward and tasty, this is a great spot to visit.
We visited Mandi King at the Morton Grove location in Chicago while traveling from Minnesota, and it was an unforgettable experience. Although the lamb was sold out by the time we arrived, we ordered chicken with rice and soup—and honestly, it was some of the best food we’ve ever had. The portions were huge, the prices very reasonable, and the flavors absolutely amazing. Four of us shared just two orders and still couldn’t finish everything! The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant had a nice, family-friendly atmosphere. Definitely one of the best Yemeni food experiences we’ve had. Highly recommended!
Dont get me wrong, their food is good but its not the best Yemini food I have had. If you are looking for authentic Yemini food in Chicago, I'd give Al Diar a try. The place could be better, when we were there, they had a water leak on the floor and the seats/table were dirty. They do give you a plastic wrap for the tables so dont worry too much about the sticky tables.
A Memorable Visit to Mandi King – My Go-To Spot in Chicago Last night, I had the pleasure of dining once again at my all-time favorite spot in Chicago – Mandi King. This place holds a special place in my heart, and last night marked my 10th visit, which says a lot about how much I enjoy it here. Every time I walk in, I'm greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere that instantly makes me feel at home. Whether you're coming with friends or family, the ambiance is cozy, culturally rich, and perfect for enjoying a hearty meal. As always, I went with one of my favorite dishes – the Chicken Grill Mandi. The chicken was grilled to perfection, beautifully seasoned, and served hot. Each bite was flavorful, tender, and cooked exactly how I like it – well done. The rice was fragrant and delicious, pairing perfectly with the meat. Before the main course arrived, I was served the traditional mandi soup, which never fails to impress me. It’s warm, comforting, and packed with flavor – the perfect way to start the meal. That soup alone is enough to get me excited for what’s coming next! When it comes to pricing, I spent around $40 to $50, which I consider very reasonable, especially when compared to other mandi restaurants in Chicago. For the quality of food, the generous portions, and the overall dining experience, I truly believe it’s worth every penny. In short, Mandi King continues to exceed my expectations with every visit. From the food to the service to the ambiance, it’s consistently a fantastic experience. If you’re a fan of Middle Eastern cuisine or just looking for a satisfying and flavorful meal, I highly recommend checking this place out. You won’t be disappointed.
