See All ReviewsMy husband and I decided to try this place and it was our first time eating traditional African food. Our server was very friendly and kindly explained the different ways we could eat the fufu, and even provided bowls to wash our fingers between dishes. This place is lovely! Very clean and pretty restaurant, and the music was instrumental and at a low volume so we could speak to each other quietly which was nice. The food is AMAZING! The Ghana Jollof rice is absolutely as good as people say it is! If you give this place a try, I would recommend that plate as a MUST. The meat pie is also great, and the goat is very tender with great flavor. Highly recommend visit here, we will definitely be back!
I recently visited this restaurant out in The Woodlands and overall had a good experience. First, I want to highlight the customer service — it was genuinely great. Everyone we interacted with was kind, welcoming, and attentive, which really set a positive tone from the start. The food itself was okay. Not bad at all, but not particularly memorable either. As someone who enjoys African food and has tried many different spots, I was expecting something that really stood out, especially at this price point. The fufu and soups (around $24–$25) felt reasonably priced, but the soups didn’t taste as fresh as I expected. The flavor was still there, but it lacked that fresh, just-prepared quality that really makes a difference. For the beans and plantain (around $20), the portion felt small for the price. The plantains were good, but the beans had a taste that was a bit off for me personally — I couldn’t quite place the seasoning, but it wasn’t something I ended up enjoying. One small thing that could be improved is communication around extras. We were given bottled water without realizing it wasn’t complimentary, and later saw a charge on the bill. It wasn’t a big deal, but a quick heads-up would help avoid confusion for customers. I’ll be honest, this is why I’m sometimes hesitant to try new spots — I come in excited and ready to support, especially as someone who loves good food, so I think my expectations were just higher. That said, this place has a lot of potential. The service is strong, the environment is welcoming, and with some adjustments to freshness, portions, and small details, it could easily become a go-to spot. I’d still recommend giving it a try and forming your own opinion.
Super flavorful food with lots of friendly staff! We got jollaf rice with chicken and everything had so much flavor. They have goat, soups and delicious fried plantains. They make you feel welcome and play great music.
