3 months agoLove this hot pot place! It’s so clean and the concept is so cool. You grab you ingredients first and they weigh it then you select your broth. It was delicious! Coming back for sure! The employees were so kind and attentive, even when it was packed.

4 months agoIt took me an hour to get here from Bellaire, but it was worth it. They offer a lot of topping options and even have a sauce bar, which is a nice touch. I chose the pork bone flavor, and it was pretty good. The server was friendly, and the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming.

5 months agoI wasn’t expecting much, but the food exceeded my expectations. At $15 per pound, it’s a great deal for personalized meals. I tried soup #1 and #2, and both were delicious. The staff was also very friendly and helpful.

5 months agoFinally!!!! no more driving to Katy Asian Town or Bellaire just to get a legit Sichuan hot pot fix. Mao Cai Hot Pot Express is exactly what this area needed. It’s the pick-what-you-want, weigh-it, build-your-own style (maocai), so you can customize everything and get in/out fast. Price is about $14.99/lb, which felt super reasonable for how fresh and filling it was. The broth is seriously tasty and hits that comforting Sichuan vibe. It’s also super close to my house, so yeah… this is going to become a regular spot.

5 months agoAwesome hotpot place! You pay by the pound and they cook it for you. You pick your soup base and they bring it cooked in a huge bowl. All of the soup bases were delicious

5 months agoThis type of food will not only satisfy your hunger but it will heal your body as well! New Year’s hangover, gone. Common colds ailments, gone! Once you start slurping, you can’t stop! Um good 😊! I was eating there with my boys when I suddenly realized my brother will love this too. So I called for reinforcement! Boom, he loves it too! Fresh ingredients, tasty broths and awesome friendly service! Will definitely be back tomorrow!

Edited 5 months agoHappy to see a Hot pot place open up so close to our home. We visited on Christmas evening and surprisingly they were open. We had decided to get the spicy and beef broths and started filling up our bowls. On checkout, I asked if there was any pork in those broths. Sadly all broths except chicken have pork in them which left us no choice. Me and my husband ended up combining our bowls as we only had one broth choice. With adding the spices etc, the taste was indeed flavorful and fresh and satisfied our hotpot cravings. Sadly i do wish all broths did not have pork in them so it could open up more options for us. The broth provided in the bowl was quite less but they provided us extra broth on the side. Price is $14.99 per pound. My daughter filled up less in her bowl and was charged accordingly around $10.
