My husband and I had dinner there. We both had catfish fillets. My sides were fried okra and field peas. His were fries and baked beans. It was odd that the fish was served on two slices of bread. The cornbread was good but was served cold. The fish was good but had a slight taste like something had been burned in the oil. I asked for tartar sauce to help cover the taste. The tartar sauce was runny and sweet but okay (I think they made it fresh when I asked for it). The okra was good. The field peas were the best I've ever had. My husband said the baked beans were really good. The sweet tea was slightly off. The location was clean but slightly run down. It was mid afternoon and we were the only customers there. A few take out customers came in while we were there. For a supposed BBQ place there weren't many BBQ options. Mostly Southern food-fried chicken, fried pork chops, mac n cheese, veggies (nothing wrong with that. It's the best). We're from out of town but if we're in the area again I'd give it another try.
THE BEST RED BEANS AND RICE I HAVE EVER HAD!! We drove off the highway to get here and it was soooo worth it. Fried chicken, fried pork chops, beef tips. Turkey wing (didnt know that was a thing), mac and cheese, potato salad, it was all fantastic. Anytime we eat something good the response is, "That is good, but not as good as Marlo's" It's a whole new level.
