One star because our server was kind and attentive. Everything else about our experience was unsatisfactory. The restaurant had three people working on a Saturday night (on the night of a Phantom’s home game). It took 15 minutes to get our drinks because the bartender was in the back. When she emerged she served the new guests at the bar before making our drinks. For our food, we ordered sliders, the “bbb” burger, and a chicken sandwich. The burgers (ordered medium) were somehow both overdone and underdone, bright red on the sides and hard in other places. Rather than slices of cheese, there were large unmelted chunks. The bacon was a thick fatty pork belly that was almost inedible. The buns were stale and reminiscent of a cardboard egg carton. We were in a hurry to get to the game so we ate what we could and left the rest. Our server asked us how it was and we told her. She was apologetic, and we asked to speak to the manager. When we told the manager our complaints she said, “It can’t have been that bad, you ate 90% of it.” I showed her the food, but she was unmoved about or concerns and argumentative. I can honestly say that I have never had an experience like this before. Eating out is so expensive. Do not waste your time and money at this establishment. As you can see below, the owner sees fit to attack me (and other negative reviewers) rather than taking accountability for her awful food and pathetic attitude towards her customers. Nobody at any point asked for a free meal, and frankly you couldn’t pay me to eat there again. What reason would I have to lie? I’ve never written a review for a restaurant before. I did so this time because of her actions and our extraordinarily disappointing experience.
I keep giving this place a shot since it’s close by and the food is not bad and servers are always nice but there is always issues that arise like certain items are not available off the menu or they don’t have certain ingredients so you have slim pickings..my final straw was I went in and it was the same situation barely much available on the menu which I accepted and had a few beers instead but then there was this group of people which idk if they were owners or investors but they took over the place were helping themselves to beer behind the bar and changing the channel on the tv to the point they stopped the music and put on full blast a female college basketball game and took no consideration for the other customers present. This is not a sports bar and this was not even a crucial game everyone wanted to watch it literally felt like a frat house. After this I just decided I will no longer keep spending my money here..it’s bad enough they never have anything but to tolerate this was the last straw.
Had a reservation and they weren’t ready, we were the only customers and they were rude. The food wasn’t thoroughly cooked, the potatoes were raw and the steak had no seasoning besides butter and lemon. Not a great first experience. I spent $40 for my meal
Another cute little local bar. The food was so good and the drinks were good too. The atmosphere was decorated and set up so cute and was pretty quiet. Got the whipped feta dip and an expresso martini. 10/10 for the dip & 5/10 for the martini.
chipotle or moes who? AMIGOS IS THE SPOT!!! This place puts them both to shame. It was absolutely delicious. I mean DELICIOUS. My kids loved it to and said 10 stars!!! No only is the food amazing the staff is extremely personable and kind. Do yourself a favor and try them out you will not be disappointed!!!!
We went here before for breakfast, and thought the food was phenomenal. Wasn’t as big of a fan of the dinner menu. The spanakopita was a bit greasy and was overpowered by spinach, and the burger was just okay, not too flavorful. However, we enjoyed the decor and the service; no complaints here. This is definitely a great brunch spot.
Always in the hunt for good food good service and a nice atmosphere. Found this place in Downtown Allentown. Clean. Neat. Came in for breakfast. Beckah was such a great server. We had eggs, potatoes, bacon all cooked to perfection. Also had a breakfast salad. Fresh fruit and nice presentation. Highly recommend this place. Will come back for dinner. They have a great bar, outdoor sitting and a nice happy hour. Cheers!!
I've been frustrated, trying to find a new breakfast spot in downtown Allentown. So I went to Max & Butters for dinner with a family member. I was thrilled to know that I could get breakfast at any time there. The establishment is very clean. The waitress staff was very warm and polite in greeting my sister and myself. Our food came out in a timely manner and hot! I got a three egg white, spinach, and grilled chicken omelet, with provolone cheese, tomatoes, and cucumbers and home fries and pineapple juice. The owner of the establishment even came to our table and asked if everything was to our liking! I was pleasantly surprised about that! I highly recommend you check out Max & Butters, the next time that downtown Allentown!
