See All ReviewsWe were visiting from Virginia and decided to stop at the Mayflower for Dinner which was Horrible and Disgusting! I ordered a "Broiled" seafood platter which in the description noted that the deviled crab and oysters would be "fried". Okay now should this platter be considered "Broiled"? The "Broiled " platter also forgot to add in the description that the scallops were also Fried! Wow why even bother listing it as "Broiled". My Husband's platter was cold, and the fish tasted strong and old. I ordered another platter since my "Broiled platter " was "fried". Salmon, baked potato, and salad. I will just say the salmon was very Strong tasting and appeared to old (didn't eat it) my salad lettuce was wilted and some of it was really brown. I did advise our server and two other passerby workers about our food concerns. One of the waitresses came back to the table saying the manager said they no longer "broil" oysters or the crab because of too many complaints. Nice to hear what the manager said, but what would have been nice was for the manager to come directly to us and demonstrate how to use good customer service techniques. It was just so busy in the restaurant with one other patron sitting at a table, I guess it was just so overwhelming, Ridiculous!! We paid $80.00 and literally waited almost 40 minutes for that Garbage!! (WHICH IS EXACTLY WHERE THE FOOD WENT!) Keep driving, don't make a mistake (like we did) by stopping to eat at this Mayflower!! Yeah they were nice enough to give me several packs of crackers, since I was so hungry because we didn't eat that Nasty garbage!
It took a little bit longer to get the food than I thought but it was worth it in the end. It was hot and delicious! The servers were polite and checked on my order when asked. It was takeout and I didn't usually leave a tip but I was glad I did. Service was great!
They didn't give me any utensils or any napkins with my to-go plate. I'm here working from out of town and had to eat my baked potato with my hand. I was 7 miles from the job site and didn't want to spend another 30 minutes driving back and forth,The food was great though.
