This restaurant is under new ownership and I have been going here for over 40 years and all the ownership changes. Located on Bustleton Avenue at Stanwood Street. I haven't had dinner here yet but the menu remains Mediterranean with a Latin American element to it. We stopped in the bar which is beautiful and atmospheric. My friend had a cappuccino and she loved it. Me a glass of wine. The juke box was playing loud but not so you couldn't speak. Playing Latin American songs. Our servers were Mexican and Dominican my friend asked she is Peurto Rican. After the holidays we will go back for dinner then go sit at their bar again. A nice time!!
If you’re craving authentic Portuguese cuisine, this place is a gem! From the moment we walked in, the warm, cozy atmosphere set the tone. The food? Absolutely outstanding.
Never will go to this place. Very bad experience. FELT SO SCAMMED.It was dead ( no one was there when we came in )and now I see why. They scam the customers and make up the prices to pocket the cash. The total did not add up to nothing of what we ordered. They also take out a huge chunk percentage to tip themselves. The food was not even worth it. The rice tasted like precooked box rice, for the expensive price I would have expected fresh cooked rice. The food was so basic and not even fine dining as they portray themselves. The waitress were so unprofessional and seemed drunk. We should’ve know better when we saw the old beat up menu. But either way they slowly lose clientele like this and from this experience , we will never go there and take our service to places like el balconcito where the food is worth it.
Service was fair, no complaints. We had grilled pork chops, tiger shrimp, salmon salad, and the skirt steak. Everyone was dissatisfied, from over cooked pork chops, undercooked steak(raw) and shrimp that wasn’t so fresh. No one finished their meal. Opted not to take doggy bags. Party of 8 (three minors) total was $238 with the 18% tip dictated by a party of 5 or more persons. Will not be returning.
Very good Portuguese food and other Mediterranean dishes. Have been here many times with family and friends. Every newbie I take returns on their own. Had the fried striped bass and jumbo shrimp. Have also had the grilled pork chops and steak at other occasions. Always a great time.
The food was decent, but the service was pretty bad. The servers don’t listen well and look pretty confused And on top of that I was charged automatic tip on the credit card which I didn’t authorize Again the food was decent, but the service was very unpleasant
I just have to say, "YUMMY!" Great Portuguese cuisine in North Philadelphia. Found this on a whim and I'm glad I stopped there. Great food, big portions, friendly service.
Good food and great service. Nice ambiance that also has a banquet hall.
