See All ReviewsFood was awesome! Definitely get the pretzel! I had the meatloaf and my partner had the schnitzel. Kim was a phenomenal server and her suggestions were spot on. We will be back.
Fun place for schnitzel and drinks. Enjoyed the Ziguener schnitzel and spaetzle. It was cooked just right and I enjoyed the slight sweet and sour quality of the sauce. The drinks were reasonably strong and fairly priced. I had a Mai tai and a flight of sangrias (berry, melon, apple... the melon was the best) approx 6-8 oz each for $12. My daughter had the mead flight (not on the menu, with similar quantities and price). The atmosphere was fun. Although it is in an indoor air-conditioned alley between shops, they have made it feel like outside with astroturf, picnic tables, string lights, etc. Plenty of games including corn hole, Connect 4, and Jenga were at several tables. Kept the kids around us busy and allowed us to enjoy visiting for a bit. Price/value and ambience are the strong pros to dining here. Definitely will return.
Started with half-liters of beer that were flat, but the server happily exchanged them for us. My sauerbraten was very good, but the serving was very small. For $24 I think there should have been a more generous helping. The spaetzle was creamy, which was unusual in my experience but fresh and good, and the red cabbage is definitely homemade, not like the jarred commercial variety. My wife wasn't so lucky. Wiener schnitzel should be veal, not pork, and the pork used in her order was definitely not the tenderloin as described on the menu, and appeared deep-fried and overdone rather than sauteed. She had to leave most of it uneaten (see picture). The ambiance is nice and the room is large and uncrowded. We're hoping her experience was a one-off and we'll probably try it again. Having been to Germany and having enjoyed the food there, we hope we can adopt this restaurant as a repeat dining destination.
