Just spent a weekend in the snowy UP of Michigan to attend a funeral. Checked out the accommodations at Memory Lane Resort/Restaurant. The log cabins are charming and spacious, right on the river where I assume there is good fishing. The view of the Paint River is amazing. Tall cliffs are a back drop to the view. Under the mounds of snow it appears there is a nice playground for kids in the summer. The dinner was served in the restaurant/bar. Again, the views were amazing, the couple that runs the place are very hospitable, and can they cook! There is a nice dining room and buffet area, and the larger room includes a bar, stage for a band, room to dance and a pool table. Google maps and Navigation won't get you there correctly. If you are on US2, turn north on US 141 (the light near Jubilee grocery store) and it will be on your right about 4 miles up. Good eatin', good friends, good accommodations, what more could you ask for?
