See All ReviewsMy first experience with Mexican Taqueria wasn't pleasant. I waited in the front area to be seated for breakfast for about five minutes before I actually started calling out for a server or someone to come up front. I ended up leaving and going somewhere else that day. I then decided to go back to give them a second chance a few days later. I was greeted with a smile and seated. My server brought out some chips and salsa that were really good and a soda. I ordered the birria tacos with beans and snacked on the chips and salsa while I waited. My food took a little longer than expected, seeing as the restaurant was fairly empty. When it came out, it looked better than it tasted. They weren't the best I've had, but I've had better and much worse. The beans, however, were amazing! I couldn't get enough of those. I'd give them another try, but it'll be for breakfast tacos.
Taco Tour Texas! I am currently doing a taco tour and rating chips and salsa, lime margaritas and steak tacos on a scale of 1-5. When my child is with, she rates the chicken taco. Chips and salsa: The chips were homemade, light and airy. They were served warm and salted perfectly. The salsa was sweet, full of fresh flavor and had a kick that did not linger. The salsa was more puréed than chunky - 5 Lime Margarita on the rocks: It wasn’t the greatest, it wasn’t the worst. The initial couple of drinks tasted like a margarita mix. But the more watered down it got, the less of a mix it tasted like - 3 Happy hour from 4-6 on margaritas making them $2.99 Steak Taco: Flavor: 3.5 Fullness: 4 Appearance: 2.5 When the taco was brought out it, the initial appearance was disappointing due to the tortilla being out of the package and not prepared any way. The tortilla appeared to have been removed from a package and placed on the plate. The steak was cut in bite size pieces and looked like it was going to be dry. Surprisingly despite the over charring on some pieces the meat was actually tender and quite flavorful. Despite there being nothing done to the tortilla it actually held up well when eating. Even though visually the taco looked like it was going to be a disappointment, it was actually a really good taco. We would come back and have more. Chicken Taco: Flavor: 3 Fullness: 4 Appearance: 4 It was a good meat to cheese ratio. The meat had good flavor to it. Service: Our server was very nice and accommodating - 5 We also ordered queso fondito for an appetizer which is chorizo and cheese, served with chips that was delicious! THE FOOD WAS TERRIBLE!!!!!! THE SERVICE WAS EVEN WORSE!!!!!! We waited for our food for an hour and a half mind you it wasn’t busy at all. The server never came back to check on us after taking our order. The manager brought my plate first and proceeded to tell us they got new cooks who didn’t have a clue what they were doing. She also said my husband’s plate would be done in a few which made no sense cause we ordered at the same time. We only had beef and cheese enchiladas mind you. My plate had been sitting for god knows how long. Our enchiladas were corn tortillas with meat and cheese only. Dry with no sauce at all. I’ve never been served enchiladas in that way. The rice was crunchy and hard. We will never return here. DO NOT RECOMMEND! Mind you 3 other people walked in and got their food before us and again we ordered the simplest item on the menu. They need knew everything because it’s ridiculous to run a restaurant this way. -0 out of 10!!!!!!!!
