See All ReviewsThe reviews made me excited to try a new restaurant I had never been to before. I was able to get there before the lunch rush. I looked around and there were 2-3 tables of people already there. I asked for fried plantains versus fries for my order which they said they would substitute. They told me to come back in less than 10 mins. I came back in 15 mins to ensure I gave them enough time. When I opened the door it was now packed and now all the dining seats were filled. My order was non existent my ticket had disappeared. They could not find it even though I had given them a 20% tip in addition. I was the only African American English speaking patron there so how convenient my order went missing. Also, even while standing there waiting inside the priority was placed on the people dining room which were entirely Spanish speaking. They told me 5 mins which turned into 25 more minutes because my order didn’t have the plantains still after I gave them my receipt. There wasn’t any acknowledgment for the wait or here’s a pastry or sofa drink on the house for the extremely long wait. Nothing it’s only when I asked them what happened with my order it was I dunno sorry. So I asked for my tip back for their horrible service. Also there was male server there who would pick up the food near the window when the cook rung the bell. He would constantly eat off the patrons food before it was served which is very unsanitary. It’s just a health breakout waiting to happen. He was literally taking fries off all of the plates he served. About 40 minutes later I received the food but I won’t be going back. They are obviously are a business who are only interested in catering to a specific Spanish speaking clientele. They lack the basic problem solving skill set when it comes to customer service issues. I felt very overlooked and disregarded even though my money is green like everyone else’s.
Tried this restaurant tonight...it was fabulous. The chicken and rice was super flavorful and my husband's steak was cooked to perfection. I honestly did not pay attention to the fact that this was a Cuban restaurant...so pleasantly surprised. We will most definitely visit again and will try to learn more about the food. Try it, you will not be disappointed.
Got the Cazuela De Marisco (seafood bowl). This is very good and with enough portion for me to take some home. Comes with rice and salad. I’ll come back to try the cuban next time. The mango shake is fresh and need to try. My friend got the Cuban. I did not try any of the bakery items.
