I didn’t even get great pictures because I was too busy smashing the food — this place is the real deal. Let’s start with the torta. They use real arrachera, which I honestly never see around here, and it blew me away — especially since it was actually cheaper than most tortas I’ve had in the greater Grand Rapids area. The steak was whole (not chopped up), which made the texture and bite so much better, and you could really taste the citrus, cumin, and spices from a proper marinade. Super authentic and clearly made with care. The toppings were loaded too — thick slices of tomato, jalapeños, onions, and avocado. The bang-for-your-buck factor was kind of insane. The gordita held up great on the drive home and didn’t get soggy at all, which was impressive. If I’m being nitpicky, the torta bun could’ve been a little thicker, but that’s minor. Rice and beans weren’t my favorite flavor-wise, but the portions were generous for the price. Overall, I can’t wait to work my way through the menu. The attached grocery/mercado is awesome too — fresh produce, great prices, and all the staples you’d expect. I’ll definitely be back.
I used to come here almost every day for breakfast burritos, as I worked at the factory next door. It’s been 5+ years since I’ve been here since moving jobs. Just came back in this evening for dinner to avoid the crowded downtown area, and I am sooo happy I did. They’ve always had the best Tortas, tacos or burritos. This an absolute hidden gem, and I wish more people knew about it! Keep up the great work Mi Favorita, you’re my favorite! 🤙
