See All ReviewsI don’t know what it is about the chicken and rice ther makes it so good! It is cooked perfectly, the flavors a perfectly balanced, a little spicy but cozy at the same time. The portion is also huge and the leftovers hold up. I want to try other things, but i go wjen I get a specific craving that nothing else can satisfy.
I ordered the veggie plate - This was a large variety plate. The flavor was incredible, lentils, beets, salad, mushrooms; cabbage great value. I as well ordered the sambusa amazing flavors.
First of all, the food all has this incredible balance. Green hot sauce is spicy, but gives a freshness to the sambusas, the rice or any of the meats. The salad is brilliant with the vinegarette having a sweet, acidic and light presence among the parsley, onion, lettuce and tomatoes. The chicken and rice is a fresh lunch plate that probably causes log jams of to-go orders, smoky-herbacious-savory marinaded and perfect tenderness to go with the veggies. Spicy beef and non-spicy beef along with the soft injera brings a comfort richness that pairs with the wonderfully stewed lentils, pickled cabbage and carrots and an awesome side of beets and potatoes. Every vegetable and meat is cared for and sauced, providing a curated meal for anyone who is going to this food stall. If I lived in the neighborhood, I would have a running tally and all of their stewed items in my fridge, making my home, family and stomach feel like the food, made with love.
