Mickies is a classic. Dinner with very generous portions. Love the choices for breakfast. Hard to go wrong do eat a cinnamon roll but the Coffee cake particularly blueberry very good. Bring cash although ATM available and remember it's worth the wait
One of those iconic places you have to try to stop at while in Madison. The restaurant opened in the late 1940s and the original menu and price list is still on the wall. They are known for their huge portion sizes so come hungry. One pancake was enough for my wife. My son could only finish half a skillet. The coffee cake looks like it was made in a lasagna pan! Try the French toast. Made from battered cinnamon rolls. delicious! Be prepared to wait in line. Service is pretty quick so patience will pay off.
OMG! What an amazing place! Old School - as in probably not renovated since it was opened in 1947, and charming as can be. food was absolutely outstanding, one of the best breakfasts I have ever eaten, and I am a big fan of breakfasts. And the portion size was remarkable - I'm a big guy and a big eater, and I had enough left over for tomorrow's breakfast (you had better believe I took it home with me). Great service, friendly, altogether excellent. Cash only, there is an ATM
