See All ReviewsThis restaurant is inside an HMART grocery. We went here for the first time to do our grocery shopping and saw this Korean restaurant. Since we already have our cart with us, we asked the cashier if it is okay to take our cart with us upon taking a table and she initially said yes. While we are looking the menu signage, she was looking our cart up and down like a crazy old lady and then told us to leave our cart outside instead and so we did. We ordered just the bibimbap and jjangmyeon since we really just want to try if it is good.. ✨️and it is not✨️. Side dishes are bland esp. their kimchi. The dishes we ordered are subpar and needed salt to mitigate the lack of flavor. One of their employees are also on a break and eating on another table. She's also filling up condiments and organizing cleaned silverware and she couldn't be more louder banging the table and silverwares -not the eating environment we were hoping. Also, as a non-Korean, we noticed that they are a lot more friendly and welcoming to their kind. This was an ongoing joke during our time there. Tldr, probably won't be coming back and won't be recommending even to my biggest enemy. It was empty for a reason. Try Gom Soon Ah in Chantilly instead.
The food here was good and it was huge portions, kind of too big actually. Like I had to eat for around 2 hours to get it to a size that would fit in a takeout container to bring home. And it was so hot that I had to wait 30 minutes to be able to eat it, it was still kind of hot but not so hot that it's inedible. So while the food is great despite a smaller menu and lack of options, there's a lot of logistical problems with it due to the massive portions and how hot it is. I do really like it, it's just these problems that should be insignificant are a bigger deal because of how much of a problem they are. The atmosphere is nice, it's a little small but it is very clean and well maintained. It is inside Hmart though which is convenient for me but you should be aware of that if you don't like a grocery store atmosphere.
We were kind of skeptical but wanted to grab some Korean food before we leave the DC area… food was piping hot, which is a plus, and service pretty friendly. It’s located inside of H-mart so not much of ambience but good food. Will visit again again when we are in the area.
