A welcoming place for exercise or a shake and protein pastries. An hour’s workout of intense cardio or lifting to a variety of Latino music.
I have been struggling with finding workout that does not feel like a torture since 2008. I tried everything - personal trainer, zumba classes, Pure Bar (scammers), yoga. It never felt good to me - staff have attitude, trying to scam you for money like car salesmen, judgement, superiority delusions - very negative experience. I was desperate. I was driving in the area (Palatine resident) and I spotter the unpretentious sign "Mireya's Zumba" at the corner. I decided to check it out. It took me months since I had been disappointed do many times and finally called. I talked to Mireya and she immediately texted me the schedule. I felt right away, on the phone, that was a genuine, passionate person. When I arrived for a class I had braced myself for 5 pages of documents to receive for filling out - contracts, monthly fee, etc. Wow, none of this standard BS. The best part is one can just go and pay for the class without any strings attached or hidden gimmicks - no personal information, pure freedom. The instructors are so passionate, supportive, and brimming with positive energy. The other students are so genuine and welcome - it feels like family. I had forgotten what normal human communication was anymore, with all the superficial society. I go now - I sweat and smile. I admire Mireya since she is dancing our butts off and always looks as if she has energy to keep going for a whole day. It is not just the workout itself, the whole establishment provides such a pleasant environment that the experience is of pure joy.
I have been a member in the studio for almost 3 years now and the studio feels like my second home, I have gained new friends in the studio. Mireya and carmilita always made sure that their member will meet their goal and support them in every way possible. I have gone to some few zumba studio in the suburbs but Mireya Dance fit Studio is the only one that I felt more welcomed and this is my safe place where I feel more of myself while I dance. ❤️ Teachers always go above and beyond and celebrate with you when you met your goal. I love them. HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! I PROMISE YOU!!
