The food was delicious. Biscuits and gravy were so good. Husband loved his country fried steak and eggs. But the service was seriously lacking. Waitress seemed to have an attitude. She brought us coffee, took the order and never came back until she dropped the bill as she walked away. Never checked in, never got refills on coffee, had to ask for silverware when another lady dropped us our food.
Came to Magnolia for graduation in December 2025. Had breakfast at Mr. James place. Family friendly atmosphere great service. Reminded me of my mother kitchen growing up as a child. Service was excellent , food was 10 out of 10. Love the history on the walls!!:)
I go to Mr James as often as I can. Best breakfast around. Good everything else too. I enjoy the hustle and bustle atmosphere. Food is always good. Service is always good. I'm always alone so I get a small single table and enjoy my experience. Coffee cup don't get empty there. Fresh brewed. I always leave a tip no matter what. Especially when I work nights, I get off in the morning and enjoy a great breakfast. If later in the day I'll get a chicken fried steak, or a big home style burger with a good helping of fries. They have a menu full of choices, portions are good size, drink selection is good. I see nothing wrong with this place. I will keep attending.
