See All ReviewsA gem in the heart of Brickell. While Miami is full of sushi spots that charge a ton for average sushi, Momi Market is a refreshing exception. The quality of ingredients here is phenomenal with otoro, uni, and ikura. As a Japanese-American, I can attest that the sushi here is authentically Japanese. The staff are friendly and professional, and the space is relaxing and lovely. Highly recommend.
Step into Momi Market and you’re greeted by a space that embodies Japanese simplicity—clean lines, uncluttered décor, and a quiet authenticity that feels both calming and purposeful. The restaurant is helmed by a Japanese chef who, intriguingly, is also a marathon runner. That detail lingers in the back of your mind as you dine: the discipline, endurance, and precision of a runner reflected in the way each dish is prepared. I ordered the Kaisen Don, a classic bowl that showcases the essence of Japanese seafood dining. The sashimi slices were generous and thick, laid out with care, each piece glistening with freshness. The fish itself was undeniably the star—clean flavors, rich textures, and a sense of abundance that made the bowl feel celebratory. If there’s one refinement I’d wish for, it would be the rice. While the current base was serviceable, a true sushi rice—crafted from premium Japanese grains, slightly sticky, and seasoned with just the right balance of vinegar—would elevate the dish to perfection. That subtle detail would harmonize the sashimi and rice into a seamless bite, the way it’s done in Tokyo’s finest markets. Dining here feels like stepping into a chef’s personal philosophy: authenticity without excess, discipline without rigidity. The atmosphere is understated, allowing the food to speak for itself. It’s the kind of place where you can linger over a bowl, appreciating the craftsmanship, while imagining the chef’s marathon stride mirrored in the rhythm of the kitchen. Momi Market is a gem worth visiting in town. Come for the authenticity, stay for the thoughtful preparation, and savor the quiet charm of a restaurant that reflects both Japanese tradition and the unique spirit of its marathon-running chef.
The chefs special sashimi was so fresh. Texture was very delicate and melted in the mouth. The toro hand roll was filled with delicious fatty tuna and had the right amount of bite. Loved seeing the two talented sushi masters upfront working their craft, precisely cutting the fish, into vibrant work of arts. Service was wonderful too would come again! The handroll was so good I ordered an additional toro and salmon roll.
