This place has really gone downhill. Got seated pretty quickly but then had to sit there and wait 7 minutes before anyone waited on me. Three wait staff came and had a conversation right next to my booth without so much as an, "I'll be right with you." or any kind of acknowledgment. Even after I looked up from my menu and right at them to indicate that I was ready to order, several wait staff walked right past my booth like I wasn't even there. After a while I decided to go somewhere else. I have eaten here before and the food was amazing. If you can get past the lousy service and actually get your food, it will be great.
Mountain View Diner is a charming Diner in the 1950s style. The atmosphere takes you instantly back in time. It's spacious and clean. The menu is huge (as befits a diner). We had excellent, friendly, and efficient service. The food is good. It's not spectacular, nor is it awful. The prices are commensurate with the food quality. If you're looking for a good diner- you've found it!
The food is diner food, and based on that, it’s pretty darned good. The menu is massive. Brian, our server, was excellent: personable, observant, attentive. The hostess may be new; she could polish her people skills and pace a little bit.
We ate here for Easter lunch. It was lots of food and it was really good. We are from out of town but I will make this a stop on our next trip up.
I am sad to say this place was just not good. Every food we got was disappointing, tasteless, and oily. The waitress was rude. The only nice person seems to I think the manager. She greeted customers warmly and was genuinely nice.
I’ve been here multiple times as I prefer to eat locally vs bug chains. The food is delicious and depending on who you get the service is quick , easygoing and uncomplicated. The only thing that gets me every time and I try it every time are the home fries. I love potatoes so sometimes I can taste how these are not freshly cooked, they sometimes taste old and when I ask for crispy they just burn it…. Please work on your home fries it always disappoints.
My boyfriend and I were on our way home from visiting family and stopped here for lunch. The restaurant is clean and comfortable and the decor is like stepping back in time to the 50s. The menu is huge and offers many different types of food including Greek, Italian and traditional American comfort foods. Peter was our server and was polite and attentive. He recommended the Moussaka and I'm so glad he did! My boyfriend had the meatloaf sandwich and said it was delicious. The portions were more than generous so come hungry. It's a shame that we live about 3 hours away but anytime we're traveling this way we'll stop in for a delicious meal.
Take a step back in time for a real diner experience at the Mountain View! Worth driving a few extra minutes off the highway for some serious comfort food. The menu - in true diner style - is enormous. Greek, Italian, burgers and fries - it has it all. And a HUGE pie case full of all kinds of cheesecakes and pies, not that we could even consider dessert after these huge portions. Every single dish was a winner - from the chicken noodle soup to the extra delicious spaghetti sauce. Perfection!
