I got a deal on Groupon I believe that gave my wife and I a great deal on some ribs and I gotta say I can’t complain about the food whatsoever. I’m curious as to why I see it’s closed down but from what I can tell it seemed to be a family owned business just starting itself out and I was looking forward to some different unique cooking instead of the big chains consistently same food taste. It’s always nice throwing in a home cooked meal or secret recipe now and then, that’s how gems are found.
I was so happy yo see a soul food restaurant downriver because I have to drive to Detroit to get some normally. I went in with and was hopeful this was going to be my new spot. Unfortunately, this was the worst food I have ever tasted in my life. I ordered the rib dinner and 3 days later it is still sitting in my refrigerator reminding me I wasted my money. The BBQ sauce used on the ribs is disgusting, the sweet potatoes taste like they are from a can and the greens had a very weird taste to them. Also, the food was given in containers that were messy and not wiped down before being put in the bad, I received no silverware or napkins which should be automatically given especially with ribs. If you want to waste money and be disappointed give it a go but if not I would pass on this place.
Attempted to order from here twice. First time the ran out of ribs. I was apprehensive about ordering again, but went against my better judgement to do so. The second time, which was the very next day, I couldn't place an order because the owner and manager had yet to arrive to provide employees with a register. Mind you, they open at 11am, I attempted to call in my order at 1pm...-----Follow up: The owner personally called me, which I appreciate and decided to give 5 stars. Most restaurants wouldn't take the time to read reviews, but having the owner call me and explain and apologize for any inconvenience says a lot. After our conversation, I am more than willing to give this restaurant another try, especially since I know how good the food is.
