After asking Google for a gyro spot near me, this is where I was sent. Starting with a positive, the staff was very friendly and very nice. I ordered the lamb gyro and was assured it was great but to eat it before it gets cold. Good advice. I was happy to get a gyro and didn't have to travel to my favorite gyro spot in College Park MD. Well, I was sort of disappointed. Presentation and portion was nice but the lamb was super salty and the sauce was not tzatziki for sure, not cucumber and no feta. The sauce was basically a bitter mayonnaise. With each bite, I prayed that this was just their sauce flavor and not rancid or sour. After a few bites, I had to throw my $10 gyro away. So I will give the staff a 10/10 and the lamb gyro a 4/10. Will I return, probably not and if so it definitely won't be for the lamb gyro. 🥙 I saw others ordering wings, so I guess that's there go to speciality, not halafa style for me.
Food was absolutely insane. Went for the first time after a long day in D.C, and it was incredible. Nourishing and just phenomenal food. If you can handle basic spice, I highly recommend getting both sauces. If I'm ever up in D.C. again and need a bite to eat after a long day I would absolutely go again, and if I was local I'd become a regular.
Very delicious and super affordable!
Ordered through Ubereats (third party app) food was decent & fresh. Chicken over rice is good but this chicken Gyro is my go to! Everything was fresh, down to the lettuce. Not too many served decent lettuce either. Very fulfilling. A must try.
Our favorite new place and we're Greek now. If anybody ask. Probably my wife makes better falafel. Probably but there’s no photos because as soon as we got home we inhaled the food. Bathrooms are out of order for non-patrons. That's the secret but don't tell anybody.
What a great neighborhood spot! Located in a strip mall off of a busy road, this family-owned business sells halal food with chicken over rice being the most popular. For a more affordable price, I enjoyed the chicken over rice with the white and hot sauces. The chicken is tender and full of flavor. There are a few tables inside, but most people get their food to go. There's a parking lot in front. They sell Pepsi and Coca-Cola products.
Amazing Halal Food & Great Service! We stopped by Munchies in Washington to try their gyros, and we were beyond impressed! The food was absolutely delicious—perfectly seasoned, fresh, and full of flavor. The meat was tender, the sauces were spot-on, and the portions were generous. What made the experience even better was the outstanding service. The person working there was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and clearly passionate about their food. They took the time to make sure everything was just right and made us feel like valued customers. If you’re looking for great halal food with amazing flavors and top-notch service, Munchies is a must-visit! We’ll definitely be coming back.,
I absolutely love this Halal food spot. The service here is always great, everything is fresh and the staff are always pleasant and helpful. There is plenty of seating and a menu full of items to choose from. They have a display container with side orders and dessert. I have been to this location multiple times and absolutely love the food here. The white sauce is one of my favorite condiments they add to the meal. The chicken, lamb, and rice the rice are always cooked perfectly. The tomatoes are in big chunks but not overwhelming. The red sauce can be pretty spicy depending on your spice level and taste buds. All components of the container make a great overall meal. The Lamb and Chicken over Rice with the salad and red sauce on the sauce is a staple of mine. I enjoy their food. There is plenty in the container to eat some now and eat it later or the next day.
