See All ReviewsMy boyfriend and I were NOT impressed. You can tell it's all homemade, cook to order, etc. But yet, it was so weird. I'm used to Hibachi in Linden Rd's buffet and how their food tastes Golden Moon on Miller Rd, or even the Cantonese place on Fenton Rd or Hong Da off of Flushing and Ballenger. All of those places I'd rate good but NOT this place! What the heck.....This place gives weird lo mein noodles that have a greasy texture, the crab cheese hardly had any filling and didn't taste very creamy on the inside, (you could see the artificial crab in it; inside was chunky) the chicken and broccoli tasted plain, the won ton was watery. The fried rice had no flavor. It was all very scary tasting. The lady was very nice in her attitude, but good attitudes don't make up for poor food quality. I'm pretty sure the people who do rave about this place, only like it because Mount Morris is a ghost town with nothing phenomenally good to offer, aside from Gillie's. It wouldn't be hard to impress anyone, when there is nothing good to compare it to here. Honestly, I think it's time for this business to close. It makes me wonder what the kitchen looks like, or if this place is very clean too. Because what we did manage to choke down, one of us got sick off from it. I noticed another person, who rated this place poorly, got sick from his order too. Hopefully, there isn't a trend of this. And if there is a trend of a bunch of us getting sick, then the health inspectors needs to check this place out. Anyways, this place is not good in my opinion, and I suggest anywhere but here.
Let me start off stating i waited 38 minutes for our food after being told 15 ( got there at 7:08 and didn't leave until 7:48) and 2 other people who ordered after me came in ordered, got their food and left before i got mine. I didn't order anything fancy and Spent $30 on two combo dinners and an order of cream cheese ragoons and cookies. The chicken breading in both the general tso and sesame was soggy from the sauce. Three rice was fairly bland unless you put soy sauce on it. Mine however had burnt chunks in it as well. Wonton soup was good though!. I did ask the lady once to just never mind and I would just get a refund and she can forget the food but I'm not sure if she didn't hear me or ignored me. But she kept walking to the back. She didn't come back out until food was done i asked for a discount and she gave me a 3 pack of cookies ( that I bought a 12 pack of already for $1.20) and said she was sorry and my order was ready now and to have a good night.... I'm not really one to write negative reviews or reviews in general really but this was a pretty rough experience.
the young chow fried rice is the BEST fried rice I have ever had. love their eggrolls and sweet and sour shrimp as well. I grew up in Mt Morris and have been eating their food for over 30 years. The are the sweetest people around.
