See All ReviewsThe food was wonderful, very flavorful and a good portion. However, the reason for four stars was because we felt very rushed. We were there on a Saturday and understand how reservations are needed because it was quite busy. But we had just started our salads and our entrees came out. A good restaurant/server would have given us time to complete our salads or almost finished before bringing out the rest of our meals. I noticed that other tables were getting their food soon after sitting down and ordering drinks. I just would like to not feel rushed.
I write a lot of food reviews. And I do not personally enjoy writing bad ones for new restaurants. We went in as a table of five with pure expectations. Each of us had the opportunity to select five completely different entrees and sides (that are an up charge) off the menu. The menu itself did not have a lot of options for it being New Orleans meals. And you are not allowed to make substitutions to your meal. Unless of an allergy. All of our meals came to the table on time and were presented with great plating. Our server Brittney did a great job for it being a Saturday and a parade weekend. Yet, the meals themselves LACKED flavor. The ribeye that is $40 was Awful. It tasted like water! New Orleans is known for depths of flavors not just spicy. And the bread the serve the po’ boy sandwiches on is way to flaky and hard. The Auj sauce didn’t help it. To me they need to sit down and taste the menu. And FIX the Squeaking front door at the front! To bring people here for there first times and them be from out of town was embarrassing. Plus our bills were not cheap! This place is expensive. So if you want to be upscale and fine dining focus less on the Bar Head and more on the menu! You can achieve both but it takes a fantastic restaurant owner who knows their stuff.
I went on Valentines Day and celebrate my birthday! My serve Savannah truly made this visit worth it! She recommended amazing dishes! She was very knowledgeable about many of the items on the menu. The catfish bites are to die for! The dirty rice and pork chop were amazing! Ended it all beignets! If you are wondering if you should go! The answer is absolutely! An amazing restaurant with amazing staff. The hostess to the manager are all incredible! You feel seen and valued! I was constantly checked on beyond just my server. I will be back! 👏🏽❤️
