Basic Barria taco (4.99 for 1-yikes) and beef chimichanga meal with rice, beans, sour, avacado and pico (11-decent price). But both had very BLAND meat. A great Mexican restaurant isn't afraid to their use their spices. Won't be back.
Had a fantastic lunch at Nolasco's Mexican Grill, all the meats were seasoned very well and grilled to perfection. Veggies were fresh And delicious. Definitely will be returning next time.
Located INSIDE the gas station was a bit off, but I am glad I ate here. They have 5 tables of four and a table of two. The shrimp fajita was the best I have had yet. Right sized, perfectly grilled shrimp and crisp veggies....peppers and onions. I would have liked 4 fajitas as opposed to three, but I was more than willing to eat the shrimp and pepers off the skillet. All drinks must be purchased from the convenience store. I am sure they must have lines out the door during lunch...I ate at 7pm and service took less than 10 minutes. Just right!
A very surprising food find... Don't let the location fool you (The restaurant is inside the AM Express gas station/store). So, the atmosphere isn't amazing, but the food is. Overall, I'm still saying 5 stars because the Mexican food was that good... and was fresh/made to order. We tried the chimichanga and the taquitos -- delicious!
We had had a long day of driving and needed to grab dinner after settling into our hotel. Once the four of us determined we wanted Mexican, we found this place, confident it would be good given the great reviews. It did not disappoint! At first we did not think we had the right location because it is located within an AM Express gas station. The restaurant occupies a portion of the space. We LOVED our server who is also the cashier. I ordered a vegetarian quesadilla. I have never had fresher, more flavorful vegetables like this in a Mexican restaurant. Crisp tender chunks of broccoli, perfectly cooked (not wilted!) red peppers, and slivered onions were nestled in melted cheese inside an amazing homemade flour tortilla. The other three loved their meals as well -- two had burritos and deemed them excellent. The service was soooo good. I wish this place was located in my town because I would fast become a regular.
Gas station food can be quite a surprise, especially if the owner is focused and passionate on quality, taste and customer satisfaction. This was delicious food served with a smile and gratitude from the owner / chef!
Updated visit- back down to 3.5 stars Enchiladas supreme. Cold lettuce and tomatoes lowered the temperature of the food overall. Cheese just barely melted in Cheese enchiladas. Chicken was a bit tough to get through. Tortillas and salsa combined with the cold salad and sour cream that was on top of the enchiladas was the best part of this particular meal. Upgraded to 5 stars 2nd visit and the food was fast and fantastic. The main guy was very nice. I judge a Mexican restaurant by how well they make a chile relleno and I must say that this one was cooked perfectly. Chips were crispy and fresh and the taco rice and beans were all super. Great meal for 11 dollars. ‐‐------------- 1st visit For a restaurant inside of a gas station.. I enjoyed my meal! The staff was very nice and extremely patient as I watched him with other guests. Food takes a bit of time to prepare, but it was worth it. My tacos were very tasty with a kickin' sauce on my shrimp tacos, and rice had lots of flavor. Definitely stop in and give them a try!
You have to try this place! Best Mexican food in BG. My hubby and I found this gem when we were without a washer & dryer for a couple of weeks and had to use a laundromat. We never expected to find such good food at the AM Express. But wow!! Nolasco is the owner and he is super friendly and always working to give you a great experience. His chef is freaking awesome at making delicious dishes. The last time we went there for lunch, we had street tacos and fajitas. 5 stars for sure!
