If you’re looking for flavorful Mediterranean food in San Antonio, give NY Gyro King a try. The server was incredibly patient and helpful while we looked over the menu and made our lunch selections, which made the whole experience even better. The dining area was small and cozy tucked into the strip shopping center. The long narrow shopped had various NY themed images on the wall that replicated the small deli shops throughout New York City. I ordered the lamb gyro combo with crispy french fries and a canned drink, while my wife chose the “All the Way” platter. Both meals were excellent choices — packed with flavor, fresh ingredients, and generous portions. The lamb was tender and seasoned perfectly, and the fries were hot and crispy just the way I like them. Definitely a spot we’ll be returning to!
Just got home after grabbing some to go food. And do I love this place already after a few bites! Bought the large chicken over rice plate, and the portions that you get for the price are so good. I love the richness of flavor, and the cinnamon in this just makes it great. Didn't catch the name of the man who helped me at the register, but he was super friendly. Will definitely be back as a go-to eat out restaurant!
Great service. Their platters are my go to and better then their pita… fills you up with the good portion size for no so much money or about same as Chipotle. My only critique is their chicken is kind of dry and the platter has too strong of a cinnamon forward taste… also so much rice (70%) and so little protein (20%) and veggies (10%)…
