Could not be better. This place has it all. Family-owned, great food, awesome hospitality and service. Get over there and get you song. Visiting from out of town thank you for the hospital.
Old Union Eats is the real deal. The barbecue here is some of the best you can get anywhere—perfectly smoked, full of flavor, and consistently outstanding. We recently asked Jamie to cater my dad’s birthday party, and the service was absolutely top‑notch. Every single guest raved about how good the barbecue was, and Jamie made the whole experience effortless from start to finish. My dad and I have also had lunch here several times, and each visit has been just as impressive. There honestly aren’t enough complimentary things I can say about this place. Great food, great people, and a true gem in Old Union. Highly recommended.
Stopped by today for the first time on my way to Lost Prairie from Groesbeck. I had seen the great reviews on FB. I had the sliced brisket sandwich, potato salad, sweet tea, and banana pudding. I was hungry and the food was good. People were super friendly. Even the dog outside was friendly. I didn't get a photo of the food; I was too hungry. It reminds me of great childhood times spent at the Personville store with my Papaw.
Great local place to get really good bbq Love the Cole slaw
This was an awesome stop for Texas BBQ. My family and I were driving through and so glad we stopped. Portions were large and reasonably priced!
The drive was worth it. I don't know how anyone could help but LOVE this place. Just resolve that you will not be able to eat all they serve and save room for dessert.
Known about Old Union for a while and have wanted to come try the BBQ. While up at our property this weekend we stopped in a grabbed lunch. I ordered the 2 meat plate and we also got a loaded bake potato and crispy chicken sandwich. TLDR…Everything was really good. Everything is kind of slow this weekend so there wasn’t a wait and we were able to order right away. Everyone was friendly and service was nice and fast. They have plenty of other options like hamburgers and chicken sandwiches if you don’t want BBQ. I got ribs and brisket with potato salad and mac and cheese as sides. The brisket was tender and tasty without a lot of fat. The ribs were falling off the bones tender and really good. Tried both with and without sauce and it was good. Their sauce is not too sweet and I really liked it. My son got the baked potato and it was big and loaded up with brisket, completely filled it up. His friend ordered the crispy chicken sandwich and said it was excellent. Definitely going to put this place on my list of places to go when we’re around.
The quaint restaurant offered the BEST pulled pork sandwich I have ever eaten! We started with an appetizer that was an entre called Frito Pie. It reminded me of nachos but with pulled pork and Fritos. DELICIOUS! I had potato salad as my side. They raise the cattle, process and cook the meat right there on sight. It was clean, and the service was excellent. The food came out fresh and pretty quickly. I loved the homey feel this place had. It is a must-go-to if you are in the area. That's my 2¢ now you decide✨
